MBB Transfer Portal Thread: Moser Year 4

Is there not any concern that pairing him with McCollum you'd have a back court that's average height is 6'1.
Just for size comparisons listed by ESPN (and if it could work):

UNC starting lineup 1-3 w/3 pt % per espn this season:

6'0 (Davis)- 41.1%
6'1 (Cadeau)- 16.7%
6'5 (Ryan)- 34.3%
Starting 4 is 6'7 (Ingram)
Starting 5 is 6'11 (Bacot)

Houston starting lineup 1-3 w/3 pt % per espn this season:

6'1 (Shead)- 30.9%
6'1 (Cryer)- 38.8%
6'3 (Sharp)- 37.1%
Starting 4 is 6'7 (Roberts)
Starting 5 is 6'8 (Francis)

Projected lineup for OU IF signed:

6'1 (Pedulla)- 32.5% w/va tech
6'2 (McCollum)- 31.4%
6'5 (Overton)- 34.6% w/Drake
Starting 4 is 6'7 (Moore)
Starting 5 is 6'10 (Godwin) if no other signing is made

Obviously these are BIG ifs and I personally don't expect Sam to be the starting C next season but will leave it for now. Point being, you can live with "shorter" guards that don't all shoot extremely well from the perimeter.

great stuff!

The top three targets are distancing themselves (or...um, separating. I need sleep).

And they're all OKPREPS kids.

Pedulla
Overton
Garrison

....and then we see what else shakes out.

I know OU loves Mayo but...just too many national players, sadly, and whatnot.

Same with Ivy-Curry....he's gaining traction with some bigger NIL funds (saying the quiet part outloud).

Pull those three I’ll do a happy dance.

Which makes sense because the main expense (and thus, what eventually determines the profit) is the labor. So it would be illogical to set the salary pool based on profit (unless it was based on profit before labor).

But, if you factor in the scholarships and other expenses, there might not be as much left over for the players.
Pro sports teams and athletic departments of universities are apples to apples.

Pro sports teams are set up to make money. They are a business. No matter what anybody says, university athletic departments are not set up the same way.

In other words, pro teams are able to turn their revenues into income at a much higher rate than university athletic departments. By definition public universities are non-profit organizations. So there's that.

Here is a look at Overton compared to Soares (his replacement). Keep in mind, one is a freshman, the other a double senior.

I don’t believe JM is really 6’2”

Soares competition was much better

Just for fun, Godwin v. Garrison. Keep in mind here, Godwin would most likely go to the bench. I am surprised with how similar their per40's were. Again a freshman v. a senior.

It's not the #1 reason I want to land these guys but...

We could use an attendance boost and it's easier to rally around the local kids. Butts will be in the seats, especially if OU "sells" it.
I love it from a strategy perspective. Get the local talent to stay in state. There's always one or two worth taking and if others develop later, bring them back!

Moore/Garrison roaming around the rim on defense would be scary. So. Much. Bounce.
Godwin has some pretty good length too. I could see them try to get another big if Hugley leaves. Nothing against Hugley I would like him back as a stretch 4 but we need more someone that actually has knees.
