MBB Transfer Portal Thread: Moser Year 4

Serious question because I haven’t seen him pay. Several on here are not real happy that Elvis committed and say at best he should be depth. Didn’t he start on a tournament team that won 25 games this year? Seems to me like he is as good as we lost or might be a little better and knows how to win. That’s what I’m hoping for anyway.

One of the quickest ways to show someone doesn't know basketball as much as they think they do is listen to them talk stats. Inevitably the talk normally goes to scoring average, etc to determine how "good" someone is.

It's easy to pick one bad stat on a sheet and pick a guy apart for it without knowing what the coach expected, what he wanted out of the kid, if he was playing in position or out of position. Due to the roster, etc

Elvis shooting % was mediocre while his catch and shoot % was very good. He scoring average was pretty pedestrian but that doesn't determine how good of a player he is either but a lot of guys will say "he didn't even average 10 ppg". People on here bashed Moore when he committed too.

I will admit I thought there were better guys available but I think he can play, despite the poor shooting %. We'll see where he fits in the grand scheme.

It's simple here, the usual suspects will dog him and say he isn't "OU good", while the "sunshine pumpers" realize all that you said and that he's a solid pick-up. If Scott commits tomorrow, it will be the exact same results.

Elvis is a combo but definitely played plenty of PG at Dayton. They just had multiple guys that could do it over his years there & duties were split a lot. I wouldn’t argue it but I watched a ton of their live games for about the last 8-ish years lol.

30 sec clip of him functioning as their PG:

Whether you want to call a guy a 1 or 2 in a lot of instances doesn’t really matter anyway and it can be interchangeable based on matchups. OU played with two PGs last season. Elvis has 100% handled PG duties at Dayton. I’ve said previously that I don’t think he’s the plan to start at PG but he will play some PG minutes in Norman imo.

A couple of guys I would love to pair with Elvis, but probably not going to happen are:

Deivon Smith, Utah - 13.3 ppg, 7.1 apg, 40.8 3p%
Kevin Miller, Wake Forest - 15.6 ppg, 3.5 apg, 36.9 3p%

I like Dallin Hall, byu, but only if you can pair him with a scorer - 9.0 ppg, 5.1 apg, 35.9 3p%

Are we too broke for this:

Kobe Elvis
Aaron Scott
Jalon Moore
Ugonna Onyenso

Dayton Forsythe
Kaden Cooper
Jadon Jones
Jacolb Cole
Sam Godwin

Kuol Atak
Luke Northweather
Yaya Keita

Make the call.
Assist/TO numbers scare me a bit with Dell’Orso but I think it might change with some different players around him. You get him a couple lob threats in Ugonna/Moore, some guys that can make open threes in Elvis/Scott/Jones/Moore, maybe it flips some.

Should be open to risks anyway with your jobs on the line.

Sounds like staff going to visit Pedulla tomorrow.
Didn't seem like it was officially over even after the Trilly stuff.

Based on Pedulla's IG follows. It read like he's wanting to see what OU has "cooking".

Up the offer. Get him secured. Get Scott. Then go hard after 2 more kids....Garrison or Onyenso at C.

If you could get one more sniper from 3, that's an added bonus.
