MBB Transfer Portal Thread: Moser Year 4

Is it possible OU will not have enough scholarship players to go 5 on 5 in practice?
Lolololol (non offensive version of the “Lol”)

If this is a serious post. No it’s not possible. They will have at minimum 12! But bet they fill all 13!

A college student who has all his bills paid and makes 5-10 times as much as I do will have no problem whatsoever with the cost of living in NYC.
We have gone down this rabbit hole already but I really disagree. In the context of this discussion, we are talking about getting paid more money but having to live in NYC vs OKC. The discussion isn't about if one can survive NYC with a high salary. It is if the incremental salary that the kid will make in NYC will really be more net money than a lesser salary in OKC. It is a legit discussion to have. Also, the poster I quoted makes it sound like as long as housing is covered, the cost of living in NYC vs oklahoma is negligant.

Housing, food, books, tuition, medical, expenses associated with his athletic endeavors--all covered. What's not covered? Nightlife and leisure activities. Does a movie ticket cost more in NYC? Does a cocktail? Yes, but those are hardly decisive factors in such a decision, especially for someone earning six figures with, again, no major non-leisure expenses.

Again...you seem to be thinking of this in a bubble instead of comparing it to Oklahoma. Lets just assume the things you mentioned were all covered (I don't think they really are), $500k in NYC isn't going to be a big difference than $400k in OKC.

But it is more than just movies and nightlife. Taxes are some of the highest in the country. Gas, furnishing, general product prices, clothing.
I'll let those that live in NYC or that go there often comment more.

Something I'm tracking on Pedulla.

These are his brother's latest follows. JJ. I just found them so I don't know the exact date. Could have been pre-Aden Holloway commitment.

Bama mods never confirmed a visit from what I've seen...so the follows may end up being nothing, obviously.

Eddie is on the radio saying that Scott is a John and barring some last minute Sooner magic Pedulla is going to Ole Miss

Love Eddie, but I think his basketball sources are not as good as what we have here.

Goes back to the dedicated basketball coverage vs. effort or just reporting. StoopsBros, cmd are bringing in more real-time info than most sites tbh. Trilly helps too.

That being said, he is probably right.

I live in New York City.
When was the last time you lived in OKC?

Here is a calculator that shows if you make $500k in OKC, you would need to make $840k in NYC to keep the same life style

but that takes into account a ton of stuff a college basketball player doesn't have to pay for ..

the extra 12% in income taxes is a real thing ..

Everybody agrees that it costs more to live in NYC. BUT, that includes rent, utilities, food, etc. These are expenses that a college athlete on scholarship does not have.

He will have his housing, food, and health care paid for. And he probably won’t need gas in NYC. Those are the four things it says it is comparing.

All things being relatively equal, if it comes down to one of the best coaches of all time and an ascending program against a dead man walking, it makes sense if he chooses St. John’s.
