MBB Transfer Portal Thread: Moser Year 4

As i say that.. the pathetic groveling ncaa gave back the hesiman trophy to reggie bush today and has reinstated him. Lolol. Yayyy. No accountability ever
I seriously doubt the NCAA had anything to do with the Heisman Trust’s decision.

Yall keep saying he will have his housing, food, and healthcare paid for. I would push back on that some.
Those living off campus may get some type of stipend for housing but we do not know if it covers any rental amount.
Same for food. They have access to all the food they want on campus but if they go off campus are they getting food paid for? IDK. I'm sure there is an allowance of sorts. Health care is free for football related injuries...is all health care free?
We're talking about a very young man who will be making, what, $300k at a minimum? And you're talking about the price of a pizza or a burger being enough for him to look elsewhere? The cost of seeing a campus doctor when he has a cold? Do you guys really think state and local taxes impact portal decisions for 20-year-olds? This is one of the silliest subthreads I've encountered on this board, and that's saying something.

One final, long-winded thought: I earn as much now as I ever have and at $300k, Scott's income would dwarf mine to a degree that I'm embarrassed to share. What's more, I pay more in rent than Scott is likely to. And yet, I live a perfectly fine life in NYC. I have no debt, I enjoy virtually unparalleled cultural offerings, I have a choice between two local teams in every professional sport (I only cheer for one of them), I can enjoy food (much of it affordably priced) from all around the world. According to that silly calculator that bounce referenced, my money would go farther in Norman, but that's measuring it strictly in dollars and cents, which doesn't begin to tell the whole story.

I don't know Scott. He might end up hating New York. It's certainly not for everyone and maybe it won't be for him. But especially given all the other advantages he'll have, he'll have PLENTY of money to live well here.

Yeah, I don’t understand why it’s so difficult for people to acknowledge/accept this reality. He’s a kid in his early 20s playing college basketball, god forbid the taxes are higher.

He’s probably making a (relatively) bad dollar and cents decision but oh well. OKC is nice, NYC is nice. People are drawn to different things.
It’s not hard to understand. But it is a factor and I doubt some kids realize it

You are missing the point…again

Nobody is saying he won’t have enough money to live there

Not going to freak out again myself.

Seemingly, OU tried (or is trying) again with Pedulla. Looks like it was to no avail. It sucks.

The mission is to find a star guard. Will they? Man, who knows. The roster will be filled out eventually. I guess that's positive news. 😂

Pedulla Trillied to Ole Miss. But I was told and ridiculed by an expert on here that OU was the favorite, even as the tied had already turned in everyone's mind but his own.

The day I make my decision about where to live based solely--or even primarily--on taxes, you can put me six feet under. I'm done.

Things change. just like scott cancelled ASU visit yesterday and was committing to OU and then 12 hours later he's going to Slick Rick.

Happens.

If not, it is a massive failure. As The Athletic pointed out in their rankings yesterday, scoring guards are far and away the easiest things to find in the portal. If we can't land one, it's ridiculous.

Right? Would I be better off financially if I had stayed in OKC/Edmond? Probably. Would I have missed out on a ton of cool life experiences had I not moved to Chicago? Absolutely.

I was about to jokingly reply "things change" since that's the built-in excuse, but looks like I was too late. :)
