MBB Transfer Portal Thread: Moser Year 4

So which school is next to outbid us? Rutgers? Butler? Fun, fun times.

Putting all your eggs into the BG/Pedulla basket was stupid af. We said it. "Don't get caught with your pants down". It was inevitable, sadly.

OU has hosted 5 visitors (Jadon Jones will be #6).

The number of visitors should be 10+ by now. Maybe 15+. That's how bad the roster is right now. That's how much they should feel desperate (3 years = 0 tourney berths).

We can talk NIL all day. It's fuccing true. Ole Miss and St John's just called OU poor to their faces and there's not much OU can do about it. Just take it and move on, I guess.

But something both schools are doing as well....WORKING HARDER, WORKING SMARTER. Both programs have hosted more than 5 visitors. Neither program put all their eggs into one/two players' baskets. Ole Miss has hosted like 3-5 PGs alone.

I promise I'm not pissed, lol. At this point, I'm in a trance. Is that their literal board? No but it is what's being broadcasted (what we see). They need to work much harder right now. They need get 5+ kids to campus pronto.

We've joked but maybe we need to throw a list of players together and DM/Email the coaches 😂 .

I think that's the dilemma. If I were a BMD (which I'm not), would I be willing to give a large chunk of money to basketball if I'm not certain Moser is the right man for the job? I probably wouldn't. I would most likely save it to help pay the buyout next year or go on vacation to NYC.

I don't think this is smart thinking. You throw money at it if you care because you care. You're not involved in the day-to-day, etc. You throw money at it because that's what the program needs in this day and age.

If you're a BMD and you don't think Moser's the guy, you throw money at it WHILE putting pressure on Joe C. to make a change.
 
At this point, whoever the NIL basketball brokers are at OU should pull all the funding.

Let this thing truly bottom out and save the $$$ for a buyout. I’m completely serious.

This staff, as others have said, is barely trying. So why should we spend $2 million or so to be 12th in the SEC? That’s a colossal waste of money.

Trance, that best describes the numbness of their lack of proper planning and my response to it.

I'll ask again. If Porter doesn't have the NIL funds to buy any of those players, how does Joe C fire him and expect to hire a better coach (or even an equivalent coach)?

Because the BMDs and Joe C. don't care about basketball. Simple as that.
 
I've been indifferent for all of these things at this point.

Dude. You do realize those you claim to look foolish aren't supporting Moser as much as we are supporting the absolute success of OU basketball.

I would rather OU grab a great roster, win 25 games next year, go the Sweet 16, and Moser get an extension vs. going sub .500 next year and having to fire PM. Honestly, I don't give a crap who the HC is as long as they can win and not damage the program and/or university in an embarrassing way, ie. scandal/cheating. But I'm rooting for the utmost success from Moser because he is our HC and I want success for OU hoops.

Is that success likely? Probably not at this point, but I'm not rooting for the bottom to fall out just to change coaches. Those are the clowns.

He’s not getting fired now. He won’t keep his job if that happens, but he’ll be fired after next season.

Moore/Godfrey
Godwin/Godfrey/Norweather.

I could roll with that squad. I'm super high on Jadon Jones & Dallin Hall. Hope Cole, Cooper & Norweather make jumpes.
