MBB Transfer Portal Thread: Moser Year 4

Will be interesting to see how he develops there. Was such a frustrating player because he has the size and strength and athleticism to be very good, but he and/or the staff never developed his basketball skills.

He showed a ton of potential/basketball skills the first half of the season.
You can blame tougher competition the second half of the season or poor coaching, whatever makes you feel good.
To me, it seemed to be mostly mental/frustration. He just wasn't mentally tough enough to handle the adversity.
I'd wager he will turn out to be a very good player as he matures. Wish he would have stuck it out here.

Love the shooting numbers but am a little concerned/confused by his lack of playing time at the two previous stops and the modest list of schools currently looking at him. Haven’t watched his highlights so I’m not suggesting he isn’t a good player, just wonder if there is something about his game that doesn’t translate to higher level competition.
Maybe he was t fully bought in.

How old is his kid? Maybe he had a lot of kid drama

He never showed improved handles or passing, i.e., skills. His shooting numbers looked good but he was only taking one three per game and you could see his shot wasn’t fundamentally sound. So yes, those things were bound to catch up to him when the competition ramped up.

Agree.

But with as badly as Pope needs players, he's probably thinking it's worth the gamble to see if he can be November-January Otega. Because the February March was BAAD.

He has zero players on the roster with 3-4 commits, so it's probably worth that risk for an experienced P6 athletic guard. But I'm with you- it's not just mental that is the issue.

I’m curious how both he and uzan do. If the staffs can really push them. If so just more fire for the anti moser group.. which I’m def more that way then not.

I’m sure though the moser supporters will say itv was something different..lol

Yea I’ve seen people say he just had the yips, but it wasn’t that. He just isn’t a good shooter.

If he is surrounded by good shooters and put in a role that fits him, I think he can do good things.

Butler just picked up another guard commit. You’d think that helps us/shows where we’re at with Jones.

I think Uzan could flourish in Houston with Kelvin. I think Oweh will be a role player at Kentucky and if they have to rely on him as a starter, Kentucky fans won’t be happy.
