MBB Transfer Portal Thread: Moser Year 4

Based on the numbers that we've seen from Trilly/others, I'll say in the $750K-1M range. If we get to find out that is.
Sheesh! I played a little D1 football in the early 70’s. MAC school. If we won and played a good game we could expect 5-10 $100 bills in the Sunday paper. If we lost…nada. Oh the good ole days lol!

Sam is a very useful player, but he needs his minutes capped at 20-25.

So, we really only need a 15-20 min per game guy from the portal.
He played under 19 minutes per game this year as a starter and it was too much. If he is playing 20 minutes per game, it’ll mean we haven’t upgraded at all. We don’t need the status quo. We need improvement.

He played more than 25 minutes only twice last season.

I’d argue he needs to be more of a 12-15 minute guy, IF we can get a decent or good big in the portal.

Edit: If Sam is playing 20-25 minutes next season, he’s either a) made a huge off-season jump or b) we missed out on landing an impactful 5.

Spot on with this take IMO. He only has one move and it’s a dunk after the pick and roll. He could really help himself if he developed a mid range game or a 3 point game. Has not shown a propensity to do either in his tears here.

If Godwin is playing 20-25 minutes, we didn't upgrade. I believe he is what he is at this point. Damn solid vs teams with little to no height. Meh vs athletic teams with height.

Shoot, this kid might have been decent as a backup. 10-15 mpg. Was only a rFr. You can see some potential there...looking towards his junior/senior seasons especially.

OU is still waiting on Garrison, obviously. I hope that works out for them. OU does need more immediate help.

I don’t want less Godwin. I would like someone who is better and more reliable than Hugley.

That, imo, should be the goal.

We didn’t lose games last season because of the front court, we lost them because our guards were absolute bricklayers.

It’s not an either/or scenario. We weren’t good enough anywhere. Sam scored more than six points once in the final 11 games. That doesn’t cut it, especially when you consider that Hugley was out for most of that stretch and we really needed Sam to step up.

If our guards shoot better than 25%, that changes the equation.

Godwin brought something positive every night. The same cannot be said for McCollum, Uzan, Oweh, etc.
