What if Notaburner is Coachtalk?
Certainly! Here's a revised version suitable for journalistic publication:Truth. I'm an awful paragraph put-togetherer. I'd probably use AI (or grammarly), to at least help clean things up, if I had to write officially. NOT to replace thoughts. Originality is paramount.
To be fair to Lusk though, he's really young and doesn't know enough yet. About being in the media, about basketball, about really much of anything.
I kind of wish we could turn this site into the official Hoops spot...with real coverage. I mean, hell, why not. We have an insider or two, we have several data dorks (kidding, obv), we have whatever the fucc I am....we have more views than OUI's thread (not bragging, just saying). Bring Lusk here. Figure out a plan of action, boom, real, quality OU Hoops coverage.
I mean, I’d say someone who aspires to a career in journalism or broadcasting should be able to both track down stories and write. And it’s not like there is a lot of news to track down anyway on game nights. Sportswriters have been watching games and then writing recaps on it for decades. Dude could easily write a short paragraph himself on the 7 or 8 guys who play in a given game if he wants to grade them. That’s already an easier way of writing about a game than doing an actual recap. We're talking breaking sports news here. Not award winning novels.
Would you rather they spend time chasing down news or writing words?
Certainly! Here's a revised version suitable for journalistic publication:
"Admittedly, my skills in crafting paragraphs are lacking. For official writing tasks, I would likely turn to AI or tools like Grammarly to refine my work, not to supplant my ideas. After all, originality is of utmost importance.
Turning our attention to Lusk, it's important to acknowledge his youth and the learning curve he faces. His experience with media, basketball, and broader knowledge is still developing.
Envisioning this platform as the definitive hub for basketball enthusiasts is an exciting prospect. With authentic coverage, why couldn't it become the go-to source? We boast a team that includes insiders, data enthusiasts (said in jest, of course), and a diverse array of contributors. Our readership surpasses that of OUI's forum—a fact mentioned not in boast, but in observation. Inviting Lusk to join us and devising a strategic plan could very well elevate our content to real, high-quality coverage of OU basketball."
I argue the speed and the proliferation of information on social media necessitates the use of AI to some degree if you are going to be competitive, as the first story is often the most read story.I mean, I’d say someone who aspires to a career in journalism or broadcasting should be able to both track down stories and write. I love good sportswriters and have since I was a kid. And I’m spoiled that the beat writer for WSU is really good. He is basically a one-man local sports department, yet still produces really detailed recaps and analysis of WSU games.
You all are such Drama Queens. He literally posted yesterday (or possibly the day before) and said he had just been busy. No reason for him to need to take a break.I suspect CT took a hiatus from posting on this board. I am not the least bit surprised either. I hope he comes back eventually because he is missed by 99% of the board.
I mean, Richmond is visiting...why wouldn't he be an option? OU isn't wealthy enough to just piss away money on visits for kids they won't take.Is Kadary Richmond still an option? Richmond and best post available?
You definitely take Richmond and make the numbers work. If they don't have an open scholarship at the end by taking him and a big guy, oh well.I mean, Richmond is visiting...why wouldn't he be an option? OU isn't wealthy enough to just piss away money on visits for kids they won't take.
Goodine?Miles/Forsythe
Richmond/Elvis
Jones/Elvis
Moore/Cole
Godwin/Norweather
I'd be happy about that.. add an average big and it only gets better. At this point, I'd rather have Richmond than any other big out there I think.
OT but OT....off topic (Sooners/Miles) but on topic (transfer portal).

I know Langston's really good right now, and they have an excellent coach, but it's still odd to see a kid who has played pretty good ball in the D1 ranks jump down a level. Even with their recent success(es), I doubt Langston has much NIL to speak of. Okay, then...not important but caught my eye.
I suspect he is asking whether Richmond is still interested in us, not the other way around.I mean, Richmond is visiting...why wouldn't he be an option? OU isn't wealthy enough to just piss away money on visits for kids they won't take.
Lol how much? 100k total?Langston has an NIL collective……
Lol how much? 100k total?
Not sure, but it looks like it’s helping them get D1 transfers. **** this guy looks like a guy who can still play d1 ball.Lol how much? 100k total?
Bienemy started, but I think your point still stands. This is positive. The reality is we don’t know how good these transfers will be. Kruger made the tournament with Miles Reynolds and Aaron Calixte. Moser missed the tournament with better transfers than that backcourt.
