MBB Transfer Portal Thread: Moser Year 4

Just put in Lusk's story on Miles committing into an AI checker, and you'll never guess what it found: 100% Probability AI Generated.

It feels so robotic (literally) when I read his stories or player breakdowns when compared to his normal responses.

I don't even really blame him. I blame Drumm and Thune. They really should be mentoring him better.

Gotta figure they’re pushing the HBCU angle.
Wow.. thats very weird.. that guy must be nuts or something. I saw their stands at the national championship game and there were less than oklahoma high school games..

They need mentors themselves.

His game recaps with the player grades were the first thing I recall reading where it was immediately obvious that it was AI. No human with rudimentary knowledge of basketball would use some of the phrases in those recaps.

We're talking about Drumm and Thune here, who need a heavy dose of mentoring themselves. Poor Brody, he never had a chance.

(No but seriously, the state of "journalism" is in bad shape right now and if that dude is using AI to generate articles, only a matter of time before he gets in trouble).

I expect CT took a hiatus from posting on this board. I am not the least bit surprised either. I hope he comes back eventually because he is missed by 99% of the board.
Is he though? I don’t think anybody cares that much is anyone takes a hiatus from the board.

Writers are increasingly turning to artificial intelligence (AI) to assist with their work, revolutionizing the way content is created and refined. These advanced tools can generate ideas, provide suggestions for improvements, and even craft entire pieces of text, from short stories to articles, thereby significantly speeding up the writing process. By leveraging AI, writers can overcome writer's block, enhance their creativity, and increase their productivity. However, this integration of technology raises ethical considerations about originality and authorship, as the line between human creativity and machine-generated content becomes blurred. Despite these concerns, the collaboration between writers and AI promises to open new possibilities for storytelling, research, and educational content, making the craft of writing more accessible and versatile.

Well done, sir!

You've never sounded better, but I'm missing the lol's and close-ish comments.

I have been required to use AI as a tool in creating online content, but anyone who utilizes it as more than a tool--who takes output from an AI text generator and publishes it with his or her name on it--is, to put it gently, a bonehead.

Was this an AI response?

We're talking breaking sports news here. Not award winning novels.
Would you rather they spend time chasing down news or writing words?

😂 Truth. I'm an awful paragraph put-togetherer. I'd probably use AI (or grammarly), to at least help clean things up, if I had to write officially. NOT to replace thoughts. Originality is paramount.

To be fair to Lusk though, he's really young and doesn't know enough yet. About being in the media, about basketball, about really much of anything.

I kind of wish we could turn this site into the official Hoops spot...with real coverage. I mean, hell, why not. We have an insider or two, we have several data dorks (kidding, obv), we have whatever the fucc I am....we have more views than OUI's thread (not bragging, just saying). Bring Lusk here. Figure out a plan of action, boom, real, quality OU Hoops coverage.

That was a good-ish response lol

Going back to a topic from a few days ago regarding social media -- just heard an interview with Self on local radio where they asked if he had ever thought about increasing his own presence on social media. He said he doesn't personally like it and lets his staff do most of it, but then he added a caveat. He said that because KU gets so much attention, there really is no need for him to do anything, but if he coached at a place that needed additional exposure, he would absolutely think about increasing his activity. I think this is exactly what SB has been pointing out. We have been desperate for any kind of good news the past few months (years?), but the coach/staff/team account has been pretty much silent.
