that is HUGE!

getting it done on AND off the court is the brass ring.

Yes indeed, this is huge!

OU, which recorded a program-record 3.06 GPA, was one of 28 Division I teams to meet the award's criteria. Only six other teams from the five “power” conferences (ACC, Big 12, Big Ten, Pac-12 and SEC) were also honored. Those schools are co-Big 12 members Iowa State and Texas, and Florida, Kentucky, South Carolina and Stanford.

I am not surprised that Stanford is on the list. I am surprised that no team from the "academic snobbish" Big-10 made the list. I'm sure they would say that "our classes are tougher, so it is more difficult to keep a 'B' average" in the mighty Big-10

Big-12 (3)
> Oklahoma
> Iowa State
> Texas

Southeastern Conference (3)
> Florida
> Kentucky
> South Carolina

Pac-12
> Stanford

Congrats to all these basketball programs. It would really be big if OU could stay on the list for the 2014-15 season.

In order to earn an NABC Team Academic Excellence Award, institutions must count the GPAs of all men's basketball student-athletes who competed during the 2013-14 season.

Based on this quote, it helps if the walk-on players are good students, as they do get to compete in some games during the season.
