They were definitely underseeded at 7, but they're not exactly a Final 4 caliber team. I think Duke, Wisconsin, and Kentucky would all throttle them. In these last two games, they've looked dead even with two 4 seeds (I know we were technically a 3, but I thought we were more deserving of a 5 than a 3).

They're playing considerably better than that now but I'm not sure how the committee could've anticipated that going simply off of one close game with Wisconsin in the Big 10 tourney. They were probably really a 5 or 6. There's no way they deserved better than that.

MSU has earned it by beating Virginia, Oklahoma, and Louisville. That's definitely the hardest path anybody has taken to get to the Final Four. Duke is a whole different caliber team, though. Izzo is going to have to really work his magic to take down Duke, but I suppose that's what he does every March, so it's possible.

I thought we could beat MSU and Louisville, but I never dreamt of challenging Duke (or Kentucky).

I just don't see how you can compare our regular season to their's, and give them a 7, and us a 3. We had similar records, similar finishes, and not surprisingly, our game was extremely close.

I thought Mich St was the best team in the east region prior to the tourney starting but don't think they have a good shot against Duke. Gonna be a great final game.

I saw Trice interviewed after both games this weekend. He strikes me as a very good young man. I also think he comes from a good family. I saw his mom and dad at the second game. In today's mixed up world not even close to everyone has a mom and dad active in their lives. I am not a good judge of NBA talent so I really don't know if that kid can play in the NBA but I suspect he will do well in life no matter what he does.

MSU is the same as they are every single year under Izzo. A tough, well-coached team that will be an incredibly difficult out and will make noise in the tournament, but not one that is a legitimate title threat.


If Izzo could recruit half as well as he coached they'd win the title every other year.
