Who makes the All Big XII team (first and second) at this point?

I really don't know but I think Hield, Clark and Spangler all get some serious consideration. I think Woodard has to be in consideration for the freshman team.

Is Spangler isn't on your first or second team at PF or C, I am not sure what you are thinking. The guy is leading the league in rebounding by a significant margin and his darn close to a top 20 scorer in the conference.

Coaches will vote Spangler first team. Media won't.

My vote:

Spangler first team
Buddy second team
Cam third team

Jordan freshman team

Can Spangler win newcomer of the year?

So what are you guys thinking for coach of the year? Maybe Scott Drew or Travis Ford?

What it should be:

G - Marcus Smart, OSU
G - DeAndre Kane, ISU
F - Melvin Ejim , ISU
F - Ryan Spangler, OU
C - Joel Embiid, KU

What it will be:

G - Smart
G - Kane
F - Ejim
F - Andrew Wiggins
C - Embiid

I would say in the "should be" category take out Smart and put in Markel Brown. They score at nearly the same rate, but Brown is far more effective. He makes less stupid mistakes, doesn't have to flop to get the majority of his points, and has left all chairs unharmed.

1st Team:
Kane-ISU
Smart-OSPoo
Embid-KU
Wiggins-KU
Spangler-OU

2nd Team
Brown-OSU
Ellis-KU
Jefferson-BU
Ejim-ISU
Staten-WVU

3rd Team
Holmes-UT
Heild-OU
Clark-OU
Gibson-KSU
Austin-BU

Feel weird leaving off Niang from ISU

freshmen
Woodard-OU
Taylor-UT or Selden-KU
Foster-KSU
Embid-KU
Wiggins-KU

Rick Barnes or Kruger for midseason coy

Completely agree. Self also deserves consideration. The Mayor is doing a fine job in Ames but I think Kruger and Barnes deserve a nod over the Mayor to this point in the Season. I might have to vote for Barnes notwithstanding my bias towards OU.

You do realize Kruger's team will finish above Texas in the conference and sweep the horns in conference play, don't you?

I think that needs to be taken into consideration. But also remember that OU made the NCAA tourney last year and Texas had a losing record. Technically, they've come alot further (of course they had much more ground to cover) than we have this season.

You really can't go wrong with either choice there.

Horns were also picked in the preseason to finish 8th in the conference and OU was picked for 5th (tied with KSU). If the Horns finish in the top 3, Barnes deserves COY IMO (unbiased opinion)

I know but Texas was bad last year and most of their experienced players graduated or transferred.

On Kruger's side you have your point and if I counted correctly only 10 other teams have more than 17 wins right now. Kruger is certainly doing an excellent job.

If I actually had a vote, I would ultimately vote for Kruger because I am an OU homer.

Brown and Staten are guards, also I don't like positions being part of All-Conference. If the best 5 players in the conference happen to leave off a point guard then so be it, if we have 5 amazing centers in the conference I don't believe 2 of them should be left off because of their position. If the guy is putting up numbers and playing efficiently and playing hard I have no problem putting him on an all conference team if he deserves it regardless of records.

Looking back I would switch Austin with Niang.

I would probably have Staten on your list. If he keeps us his pace, I think he should be in consideration for 1st team....probably over Wiggins.

Totally disagree. Cam Clark should get 1st team consideration as well as Spangler and if we finish in the top 2, I would be surprised if both don't make 1st team. Clark leads, or was leading, the league in scoring and Spangler leads in rebounding.

To me at this point it's Embiid, Clark, Spangler, Kane and Smart.

Smart only gets it because he is so talented not because of his or OSU's results on the court. KU only has 1 player because they don't really have a dominant player. Too much talent and they seem to have a different leading scorer most every night.

Clark will be lucky to be on the second team. He's been a complete non-factor in 5/8 Big XII games this year. Spangler will make one of the teams and Hield and Clark will honorable mentions. Book it. Just trying to look at it realistically.
