Nothing resembling a walk-on. Ricky Kreklow is a legitimate Big 12 player. He'd only get a 50% tuition discount, anyway (and his parents would be on the hook for 100% of all his other expenses).

He's not at all a Matt Lawrence type, either. He is a 40+% three point shooter, but he's also a far better athlete than Lawrence who has point guard vision and far better handles than Lawrence ever had. Lawrence was essentially a catch and shoot player (or pump fake, take one dribble and shoot). He's closer to Nick Calathes than Matt Lawrence in terms of style of play.

Anderson's been recruiting him heavily since his sophomore year.

Thanks for the info, Sawyer. I would call him a solid get for the Tigers. Sounds like a local kid that is getting to live out his dream (similar to Kyle Hardrick).
