Most memorable game you've been to?

Still the OU-Georgia Tech game many years ago. 13,000+ - Wayman and the gang - they had Mark Price/and Many NBA guys. Loudest I have or probably ever will hear the Lloyd Noble. Ears were ringing the day after. OU was down like 15 in the second half and then there we came. Many good UNLV games too but NOTHING comes close in this old guys eyes. It was amazing!!!

1984 - OU-Syracuse at the Carrier Dome. OU won 98-91 behind Wayman with 33 and T-Mac with 26. That win got us into the top 20 (it was a few years before the poll expanded to 25) and we stayed there for all but two weeks over the next 7 years.

2003 - Sweet 16 against Butler in Albany, NY - Ebi Ere went off that game, but his hot streak didn't continue two days later.

Did you go to Tulsa?

No... I was in high school in 2001. My grandparents and uncles all went to TU and I used to go to games with them. I went to the University of Colorado and University of Denver.

You've lived a sheltered existence.

The atmosphere at that game was unbelievable.

Speaking of TU, they are losing an ugly one at home to Cincy tonight. Not sure they can lose tonight, and to SMU, and still make the Dance. Dang.

I'm just joshing with you. I've got nothing against the Hurricane. Spent many late night watching WAC battles between Bill Self's Tulsa teams and Tark's bunch at Fresno.

Of course I was pulling for the Shark, but that's already been covered.

I was a little too young to appreciate those fantastic crowds under the glory years of Tubbs. I was at the games, and video proof is being provided on FSN every Friday night, but I just can't get the old noodle to go back and re-live them, personally.

But I'll tell you, one of the rowdier crowds EVER at the LNC was when Cincinnati came to town in December of 1999. That place was packed to the gills and dying to go bananas. Too bad the Bearcats just mauled us. What a fantastic team that was.

That 2002 team against Maryland was over Christmas break 2001. Jam packed house. Great crowd.

I don't hate it, I just think it is a joke and anyone that pays that tuition is a fool.

Well the people I know that went there are all doing really well financially now. Of course, I am sure they would be doing just as well if they had gone to a state school, because smart/talented rise to the top regardless of where they go to school... (usually)

The LNC was loud and packed in those days for KU, Mizzou, and the big OOC games. In the early 80's it was packed for KSU too and then they fell off a little.

The fans always turned out for Norm Stewart, he was fun to hate and for KU and whoever their coach was (Brown, Williams) we hated as well.

I can remember in December of 89, Centenary came in for a game and I know the student section was full and I think most of the LNC was full and it was a mid-week game. The press had built the game up as a chance for OU to score 100 in a half and we scored 97. If Terrence Mullins doesn't jack a trey with 40 seconds left we probably get 100. The crowd was electric that first half as OU scored and scored and scored.

I can remember going to plenty of ISU, CU, OSU, and Nebraska games where the LNC was 60-75% full though. Vividly remember a Colorado game when Wayman played, and we were probably top 10 and only about 5K people were there. Our church group went and we had our pick of which seats we wanted.

If my brother joined this site, he has a good one that few OU fans can claim. He saw the OU-Loyola Marymount game out in LA that night when Skeeter Henry scored 41 (31 in the second half alone) in a 136-121 win by OU. Bo Kimble scored 46 for LMU, which wound up having a great season despite the tragic loss of Hank Gathers. That was also the first game Gathers missed after his first on-court collapse.

Completely different era of "people" in general in the 80's. It wasn't just OU games. Watch some NBA games from that time. The crowds at those Celtics' game. Pistons. Lakers to a slightly lesser extent only b/c of how LA folks can be. Very good goods back then, with people just acting wilder and crazier. Maybe it was the booger sugar. :)

I think that has everything to do with the lack of corporate influences back then.

I just like to mess with SoonerfanTU.

I have only been going since the early 2000s but man that Baylor game when jerrells missed two free throws and crocker hit that four point play was INSANE. Especially considering the place was half full. old men were jumping up and down. 2008 was a great year for atmospheric games with bball and football

Also, I think it might have been bookout's last year when we won four straight games by one point but there was a game that came down to the wire and after the win the players rushed the fans. My face ended up in bookout's armpit and my glasses when flying and broke. victory has never smelled so good

Gee, I thought I just got to pick one.

1985 Big 12 Championship game against Iowa State. The 1,500 or so OU fans were chanting "one more year, one more year" to Wayman when the 16,000 Iowa State fans started chanting " Go pro, Go pro".

1974 Furman game. Only reason, it was my first OU game and Alvin Adams played. So did a freshman point guard late in the game named Dean Blevins.

1988 Arizona game in the Final Four.

1990 Kansas game Big 12 tournament. We blew their doors off. That was a fun tournament. Colorado was an 8 seed and almost ran the table. We sat next to some ku fans for the Missouri/Colorado game and gave the Missouri guy behind us hell. He was in one of the suites right behind us and drunk as a skunk. Late in the game he was pissed and beating on the glass and trying to climb over it to get to the bunch of us. Finally the police came and cuffed him as he screamed and yelled at us the whole way out. The next day the ku guys weren't our friends anymore. :ez-laugh:

Due to unforeseen health issues with my wife I will miss just my 5th Big 8/12 Tournament since 1984. :(

I have so many more since I started attending regularly in 1980. Heck I was even there for the infamous Ohio Northern Polar Bear game. :facepalm

You really feel the way you say you feel. You've been saying that for about a decade now, that I recall.

And it doesn't bother me. I think it's a silly view point to have. Going to TU is no different then going to any other higher priced private university in this part of the country. I feel like I got my money's worth.

The 2OT 2000 Iowa State game was amazing. Fizer and Tinsley were great college players.

2002 Maryland was the most fun I've ever had in Lloyd Noble.
