Much to the chagrin of many...

By watching their teams play. Do they play hard? Execute the fundamentals? Have a coherent system and plan? Execute late in games? Play smart basketball? Does the coach design good BLOB plays and ATO plays? Do the players seem to understand fundamental time and score issues, such as, if we are up 6 with 20 seconds left, we should have all five guys defending the three and not worrying about the drive? Does the coach have rationale substitution patterns? Does he identify and play his best players, or does he continue starting a guy like Sam Godwin no matter how poorly he plays?
It's like porter moser has players from the Y, instead of a mid-late lottery pick and other decent players, but does nothing with them
