Mulkey. Enjoy!!!

I'd forgotten about that column. It's not normally like BT to write something that the majority of the OU Nation would agree with so much.

It's more likely that their columnists would deliberately write something absurd like Carlson did on how Mulkey "isn't so bad...." They usually love to tweak the OU fan base, in part because almost none of their writers went to OU. And they do seem to be terrified of the "OU Homer" label, and often try to overcompensate for any perceived bias.

It's not just OU Nation agreeing but all women's basketball fans across the country except the Hypocrites in Wacko!

I'm sure that column tweaked KM to the moon! Didn't she ask Carlson last week "where's Berry?" She doesn't forget (go ask her Dad!). She's gonna go "Woody Hayes" on someone in the future IMO. Just what is she teaching her own children and her players? Do or say whatever it takes to get what you want? Her behavior is purely pathetic!

No one gets kicked out of school for their thoughts.

So now you are saying that it's ok to kick someone out for stating they are gay. Before you stated it was because of "gay activities" which is code for sex so at least we are making progress. You do know that one can be gay and never have sex; right?

And I'm sorry for turning this thread into an indictment of Baylor's policy on gays; that wasn't my intent until someone started trying to defend that. This thread should be an indictment of KM and her attitude, antics, ethics and coaching style. For those of you; Norm; who believe in winning at all cost, you can overlook all of that. Those of us that have standards of decency can't.

I don't hate Mulkey. I love that there's someone in women's basketball to hate. I wish we had more teams to hate in the Big 12 for whatever reason.

I just wish we beat Baylor as often as we used to. All sports. Especially football

I'll be happy when Big 12 has an enema and rids us of Hypocrite U all together! I think the Lone Star Conference is too good for them!

I've also heard the BU folks were pretty brutal to deal with for OU fans when we played them down in Wack-town. This is from riding the elevator at the LNC with my dad, after the next home game (I think it was TCU) after that one. No one on that elevator had anything good to say about those "wonderful" Lady Bears fans.

If it makes some folks feel better about themselves to play an odd "moral equivalency" game by bringing up Switzer, Tubbs or Kelvin in the context of Mulkey's antics, then go right ahead. But I sure won't understand it, either.

I have a cousin that her and her husband are donors to OSU and they travel to a lot of Big 12 sites following the Cowboys and she said Hypocrite U was the worst. I wasn't surprised.

They're not ALL bad. I count among my friends a dear, sweet man who is a die-hard Baylor fan.

I have more issues with Cyclone fans. But...that's just from personal experience.

I didn't state that every fan was bad but that her experience was, in general, that Hypocrite U had the worst fans. Every fan base has good and bad fans.

My experience in holding season tickets, for 10 years, across the aisle from the visiting fan section is, that among Big 12 fans, the only ones I've personally seen negative behavior from is Hypocrite U fans. I'm sure it was learned behavior from their head coach!

#BaylorTears. It was a thing last December. It was hilarious.

We need to hurry up and invite Notre Dame and BYU to the religious rivalry party before TCU and BU kill eachother fire and brimstone style. At least the Big 12 would be 12 again.

PS: Happy Holy Week everyone. I mean these jokes in the least blasphemous way possible.

So, as I now understand, TC now admits that there was cheating, that there was an NCAA Investigation, Baylor and Mulkey were found guilty, and penalties were assessed, including restrictions to Kim's personal recruiting and loss of scholarships (though the penalties amounted to closing the barn door after the horses had been stolen). I remember that TC denied all those things in the past.

I would love to see examples of me denying "all" of those things.

Of course there was an investigation and of course there were penalties.

What I said before, and what I still say today, is that some people have accused Baylor of wrongdoing for things which are not even rules violations. Such as a coach sitting in the wrong area of a gym while watching a recruit play, or how many players a college is allowed to sign from the same summer league club.

Furthermore, the NCAA spent 2 or 3 years going over the tiniest little details at Baylor, but almost everything that they cited at Baylor were nickel and dime type stuff. The kinds of things that happen at ALL colleges.

Look at how incredibly long this list of rules violations is. Do you think that this school should be hammered by the NCAA for massive violations of NCAA rules? Or should we consider these things to be inconsequential nickel and dime type stuff?

That is a rather disingenuous claim. Why am I not surprised. The charge was, and is, that Mulkey used her "privileges" as a mother to visit parents and associate with prospective players in violation of the number of visitations permitted, something that no coach had done previously. It took advantage of an "exception" to the NCAA rule about number of visitations, although there was no such legitimate exception. The NCAA did nothing about it which was of great irritation to rest of the world of college basketball. It was that use of a really non-existent slippery slope that prompted the vendettas on the part of Sally Jenkins and Michelle Voepel, as well they should.

This newsok article does not mention AAU ball. Coale's daughter played on the same high school team as Franks.
