Was never a question but great to have it confirmed. He could have helped last year but in the long run, I have no doubt the injury will help us because he'll be better as a fifth-year senior than he would have been last year.

Awesome news! Also good that the second year was granted before the season starts, so Kur and our coaching staff don’t have to worry about it anymore. Decisions like this have a way of dragging on for way too long sometimes.

Props to the NCAA! [I haven’t said that too often over the years]

Very good news... the redshirt year is likely the best thing thats ever happened to him. He needed more time to get bigger and learn.

It's more faith in our coaches and realizing that they wouldn't sit him an entire season unless they knew the injury was severe enough to get the hardship. But as much as the NCAA messes up, I don't really recall many examples of them denying medical hardships.
