NCAA Tournament thread

I don't trust Virginia. Had them losing in the Sweet 16 round in just about every bracket I filled out.

The best thing(s) about this 16 over 1 seed upset are that 1) that was a GOOD #1 seed on paper (2 losses all year in the ACC?!?), and 2) it really wasn't close. Just crazy.

Really is shocking. Their system hurts them, as the fewer possessions let variance play more of a factor (i.e. UMBC making everything in the 2nd half, UVA missing everything).

Slowing it down can work if you are efficient. UVA just wasn't that efficient tonight.

They got crushed. It is like OCU beat OU in the tournament. It is hilarious. That UMBC pg looked like he was a foot smaller than the UVA guys and he kicked their ass.

Can’t believe Leonard Hamilton is still coaching. That guy has been around forever.

The Retrievers play smart and obedient basketball. They also shed double teams very well and chase after loose balls.

These comments didn't sneak by me. Retrievers are awesome (goldens and labs)....best breeds that the good Lord graced us with.

It makes sense when you're the less talented team. The better team has a small advantage points wise on every possession, meaning the fewer possessions each team gets the more likely the worse team is to get lucky and win. The combination of crazy shooting by UMBC and atrocious shooting by UVA are not going to continue forever, so you want the sample size to be larger, not smaller.

I filled out two brackets on ESPN for the fun of it. Took Nova on one bracket and Virginia on the other. Took Virginia because they “play great defense!” :facepalm

I know it's easy to say now, but I didn't have Virginia, Nova, or Xavier winning any of my brackets, and took most of them out before the FF.

I really think the winner will come from the group of Duke, MSU, NC, or maybe Gonzaga. I will say that Nova has looked pretty good though.

I can't imagine Duke or NC winning this championship.

Duke is #3 at Ken Pom, and the only team that is top 10 in both offense and defense.

I think their guard play is way too weak to win the tourney. Duval is just awful.

FWIW, I think Villanova and MSU are the overwhelming favorites. I'd put Gonzaga, Cincinnati, Xavier, Michigan, West Virginia, and Kansas in the next group. Can't see anyone else taking it home. Wouldn't be the first time I was wrong though :)

Horrible TV. Back to back routs

I never get why they don’t double up the early games but have 3 at a time later in the day

RI/Duke no contest..Would OU have done any better against the blue blood?

CBS usually has a couple of blue bloods in the early Sat/Sun game for better ratings during the day, problem like you said is sometimes the games turn into boring games like the first 2 games have today.
