I wonder who the walkon was who reported it. Wish it would have been reported sooner, but better late than after it happens many more times.

Don't they go over this stuff before the season every year? I know they do in football. Hopefully no players actually accepted anything. How absolutely assinine.

Hundred dollar handshakes happen everywhere all the time. It's largely ignored. This was likely a large sum of cash for it to be reported - or a walk on who was jealous.

I hope not. Everyone cheats and we need to, too. Just need it insulated from coaches.

edit: in reply to banning the booster.

What incentive does YoYo have?

What incentive does YoYo have for extending benefits to players? This had to come from the actual coaching staff.

What a sad statement. How ridiculous.

It's true. Whether ANY of us want to admit it, it's true.

If what I'm hearing is true, then Yo Yo was certainly the fall guy in this situation and that's too bad. Also, as long as Boren and Castiglione are around, we won't be competitive the way we want to. This situation was handled in a way that no other program would have handled it.

I hope some of my fellow OU fans don't start acting and sounding like aggies on this issue. This is bad. Boosters, staff members, players, coaches, anyone involved or knowing anything about it needs to be run off.

I am a big fan of Kruger and his assistant coaches. But, I wouldn't want them to be preaching compliance, integrity, and doing things the right way and then let something like this slide.

Feel bad for whoever got cash in Europe, they got hosed on the exchange rate.

Who is acting like an Aggie? The truth is, whether you want to believe it or not, this stuff happens. You run off coaches, boosters, etc., because of this and you don't have a program. You can't have it both ways. You play on a level playing field or you're Northwestern.

You. That's who. Everyone else is doing it. So, we have to do it too is their default position. I don't like cheater's, angle shooter's or hypocrites.

I don't like the game, either. It's turned me off more and more to sports in general. That said, if we want a winning program, you have to play by the rules that are in place.....and I'm not talking about the random NCAA rules.

Or, we can be Northwestern. If you're okay with that, then keep your holier than thou act up.

No. You are wrong. That is the problem with cheaters and angle shooters. They want to present it as the only two options available are to cheat or lose. There is a 3rd one. Win the right way. That is the hard way. That path is reserved for the brightest and hardest workers. Most can't do it that way. That is why they shortcut and cheat.

Nah. I'd rather us get decent 20 win seasons doing it the right way then be in Final 4 contention because of cheating. Every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Call me naive or call me ignorant, I don't care. If you are OK with cheating just because everyone else is doing it, then I think you need to look in the mirror.

What you're missing is that no one is winning the "right" way.

It's okay. I get your point. Again, my life used to revolve around the college sports world and I had my head in the clouds as well. I no longer live and die by OU sports, though, because I'm around enough people who've played to know what really goes on.

It's a business - whether we want to believe it or not.

You don't get 20-win seasons without being on a level playing field.
