I saw that this guy is a juco that we are looking at. He is 6-10, 215 pound forward from Eastern Utah JC. Does anybody know much about him?

Nice interview with James on the OUinsider board. Sounds like he's pretty well narrowed down to two teams.

I remember Eric Bossi, Scout.com recruiting guru who watched the juco tourney in Hutch, mentioning him on his twitter page. Here is what he said:

Having seen all the teams here, I'd be real tempted to go with Eastern Utah's Nick Thompson as best prospect. Skilled big man.

Is he athletic? Can he jump and block shots?

If so take him....We DESPERATELY need an athletic pf so roam the lane like patillo did

I am starting to think we are going to be pretty good next year....top 4 finish in the big 12...assuming WW and tiny come back...the sky could be the limit because we should have the talent
I am predicting best turnaround in school history!!

He said OU and New Mexico were his top two but that more could come into the picture. Apparently used to live in Midwest City and is/was an OU fan. He's going to visit Norman not this weekend but the next weekend.

Here is a page with some highlight videos of him and his team from some assorted games. He's #33:

From that highlight that glover kid looks really good and active...looks like an inside out kid, maybe we can get on him

The whole video Nick hung around the three point line....we really need a hard nosed pf and nick did not post up once in that video....hopefully it was just random segments were he was outside...but he was floating around the 3 point line...did have some nice drives but like I said we need a real pf

Looks like a good kid to put at the 4 with Tiny at the 5.

Yeah, just briefly watching some of the videos he looks to be more of a "hybrid" 4 than a true post with more emphasis on playing the wing.

Here are some photos. The files are too big to post and I don't have time to resize them so here are some links:

Dang, he looks pretty skinny...I would like to have him but he is more of a 3/4 than a true 4 it looks like...so maybe if capel plans on going with a 4 guard lineup he woudl be perfect...but I would think he is being recruited as a guard

That still leaves all the voids downlow....we still need to sign 2 strong pf's and a center

He's an improvement in regards to height and athletic ability at the 4. At this point with what little is left I do not think OU can afford to be too choosy in picking post players who have real size and some actual talent.

This guy is exactly what we desperately need. Coach Capel MUST get this done. Can you imagine our post depth if we land both he and Aziz? (assuming Tiny is back)

His rivals profile says 6-8 240.

But then again, they think Neal is 6-6 175, so maybe they are just guessing. :)

6-10 and 215 pounds? Wow, that's thin.

He said he plans to put on more weight and get stronger in Hale's interview. With his frame, he could easily add 20-25 pounds during the summer and arrive on campus this fall in the 240 range.
