Yes, I thought that was going to be the case after the two starts in Lubbock and the one on Tuesday vs. UCA. Now that OU has Georgia Casey back, it is not a big deal to insert Vest at SS to pitch Shelby. I think that is how it is going to go for the rest of the season. Gasso has gone all in with Paige Parker for the NCAAs.
 
Hey what are the chances we could get a whole section devoted to softball? I love keeping up with the team, but these loooong threads are way to hard to follow.
If we had a whole category(or whatever it's called) devoted to them it could be way more organized.
 
Here's a little something to think about: What are the chances that Shelby, if she keeps hitting HRs at this torrid pace, overtakes Lauren and becomes the all-time NCAA Div. I HR leader?

I realize, of course, that isn't likely, as it's getting late in the final season for both players. But you've got to be impressed with what Shelby is doing this year. And, of course, I hope Lauren breaks the record and gets on a huge roll before the end of the season and during the WCWS.

I think pressure is mounting a little on Lauren although she handles it well. Shelby is playing at a freer pace trying to catch up. I think once Lauren reaches 91, she will relax a little. Would love to see her reach 100! But we'll probably end up with 2 of the Top 5 all time HR hitters on the same team at the same time!
 
We load up with outstanding freshmen, some of whom are starting and others playing, we have two of the top hitters in softball, a really tight defense, a top freshman pitcher - EVERYTHING to win a championship and our star pitcher regresses from her performance last year???!!! Everybody improves but her??!!!!! I guess we need to go widdershins around a pentangle muttering arcane incantations whist a cauldron bubbles. Anybody got some adders tounge?

We will be fine, Paige will pitch all of the post season games. She was going to pitch them from Day 1.
 
Shelby only has about eighteen games to catch Lauren, and they are still eleven apart. That would be some rampage.

That doesn't include playoffs, right? That would add at least 7 or 8, hopefully.

Adders tongue? That would come from the WBB coach in Waco.

Remember, Shelby hit 8 home runs on the weekend of March 14-16. A barrage like that would get her in contention.

Shelby has yet to face a team that refuses to pitch to her. If anything, she has had a greater tendency to slumps than has Lauren.
