New softball thread

That line drive screamer Lauren hit in the first inning against Arkansas was, I believe, the hardest hit ball in that game – and that includes the four homers hit by Pendley and Casey.

I'm still trying to decide if the Hog third baseman made a great catch or if she just got lucky when she threw up her glove in defense of her life (or the life of her left fielder). :ez-laugh:

Was sitting in the left field bleachers last year when Lauren hit a line drive home run. Wanted to try and catch it but decided my life was more important!! :) She hits the ball harder than any player I've seen. Hope she breaks the record against Texas. Not sure they will pitch to her.

I agree! If they don't pitch to her we need to make them pay dearly with others behind her.

That is now 17 home runs for @PendleyShelby in her last 19 games! #Unreal

What a stretch @PendleyShelby is on!!! She crushes a two-run HR to LF and the #Sooners lead 2-0 on her 80th career home run!

.@LChamberlain44 juuuuuust misses career HR No. 89 with a shot high off the wall in LF, but it's a leadoff double for the #Sooners!

Well, we finally got one single with runners on base. But, we keep stranding runners at third that got there with nobody out. 3-0 on a single by Lauren. Ellis had led off with a fifteen-pitch walk.

That UT pitcher pitched herself out of a jam just now, female Horns are hanging in there, 3-0...

Wright has had at least two runners on base in every inning. She just kept fighting until now. Getting to five runs and facing Pendey with two on was apparently just too much.

Paige just keeps rolling.

We probably won't see Lauren and Shelby in the sixth. Ellis and Nirschl have been huge today, as, of course, have been Lauren and Shelby.

I think that is now four times that we have had a runner at third with nobody out and failed to score them---at least three.
