New softball thread

We have 14 hits so their pitching hasn't been that good but we have just failed to get hits when needed with runners in scoring position.

17 hits, 8 runs to show for it. Could be better, could be a lot worse. Anytime we get a comfortable win, I am a happy camper.

Usually, we get a lot more walks than we did today, which helps scoring. Wright did come up big in crucial situations. She isn't bad. She looked pretty good. You don't really know whether she is that bad (5 runs, 157 pitches in five), or whether the OU hitting is just that good. I'll be interested to see how they hit Pendley, and we hit another Texas pitcher.

Announcer said it is dusky in Austin.
Lauren hit by pitch on a 3-1 count.
Shelby hit the top of the wall in left center, long double, Lauren to third.
Paige struck out
Erin grounded to second with Lauren being trapped off third.
The radio is well behind the live stats, probably two minutes.
Casey struck out
no runs with runners on second and third, nobody out.

Texas first

Liner to first
Stevens homered down the first base line.
strikeout
Texas leads 1-0 after one

What are the chances Shelby and Chamberlain both hit over 90 HR for their careers this season? Would be awesome to have both over the previous record. 1 & 2 ON THE LIST

I would love to see it. Shelby has to remain very hot. There are only about sixteen regular season games left, and the pitching gets harder in the playoffs and series. She has to hit ten to tie.

OU seventh
Casey flied to left
Nicole walked on four pitches
Parsons hitting for Self,
Nicole stole second
Parsons walked
If Ellis or Vest can get on, Lauren is up.
Ellis popped to second
Nicole caught stealing at third
OU 3-1

The only thing that I can conceive of was that Gasso was trying to steal a run by getting a wild throw to third. Otherwise, I'd rather see Vest try to walk and give Lauren a shot at breaking it open.

Texas seventh
Krpec singled to right, advanced to second on error by Casey
Strikeout
Foul out to first
Strikeout
OU sweeps, now 11-10 all time at Texas.

Thanks, Syb for the play-by lay. The game was not on TV here in Hooterville. Love that Paige Parker!

Lauren/Shelby/Texas
AB 7/7/48
R 3/3/1
H 5/5/7
RBI 2/3/1
HR 1/1/1
2B 1/0/1
3B 1/0/0
BB 1/1/2

So, Lauren and Shelby each had more runs scored and rbis than did Texas. Together, they had more hits than Texas, more home runs, more triples, and tied Texas for doubles and walks.

It makes it easier when they are hitting.

For the two games, Lauren had eleven total bases. Shelby had nine. Texas had eleven.

The weather looks like it will hold off until about 3:00.
