We are down to 43 days, and it is actually interesting this year. There will be some late commits this year. We may get one or two.
I suspect South Carolina will probably close well. They had HoopGurlz #1, #4, and #5 prospects in this past weekend, and DeCosta and Williams fell in love with the place. They may both be headed to SC. Williams will also visit Texas and UConn. Texas has a strong class, even with the Routh decommit. I tend to think that Williams is more likely to go to SC or UConn. Texas was not on her list until recently, just before she moved Baylor off.
The best shot that Baylor and Texas might have for another good player might be Egbo who could end up in either. Baylor has a shot at Honesty Scott-Grayson, but she seemed somewhat enamored with Ohio State who hasn't had a commit in two years. That will change.
Tennessee seems to think that they are the favorites for both Rae Burrell and Aquila DeCosta. They like Burrell, and I hope we get a decent shot at her. I suspect that they might lose DeCosta to SC. She is also visiting Baylor.
Olivia Nelson-Ododa (#5) is also visiting UConn. I wonder if UConn might not have the advantage.
I'm just glad to be in the hunt for Burrell. She seems to be able to go both ways very effectively. I don't know why Tennessee thinks they have a lock. Wonder if Ellenberg can help us with a Vegas girl? Yo"Myris Morris seems a similar type. I think that may come down to OU and Mississippi State. We get the last visit.
Doumbia is regarded as a pure athlete who will continue to rise as she gains experience. From Mali, I saw something that said she can almost dunk, and she is listed anywhere from 5-7 to 5-10. Supposedly a jumper with speed. Arkansas, Vandy, and TCU are in this hunt with us.
Wonder if we could get into the hunt for Shae Routt? She was one of three that committed to Texas as eighth-graders. I think all three decommitted. The other two recommitted. Her mother, her coach, played for Texas.
Pure conjecture.
