“Most teams that make it pretty far play defense,” Oklahoma forward Ryan Spangler said. “Our goal is to make it as far as possible. The only way to do that is to play defense. We can’t rely on our offense anymore.”

“That’s the only way you can win these types of games, with defense,” point guard Jordan Woodard said. “Offense can only take you so far. It might be cliché, but it’s real. You have to get stops late games. I feel like that’s one of the reasons we’ve been closing out these games and beating teams.”

well, they're right. Defense travels. Shooting often doesn't.

Of course a great inside game does travel better than an outside game obviously. But teams can pack it in and you eventually must hit some shots.

But great defense can be played on any floor no matter how you're shooting. It's just a fact.
 
Kruger will become the first coach in NCAA Tournament history to lead five different teams to at least one victory. Two wins and Kruger becomes the first coach to reach the Sweet 16 with five different teams.

That is pretty damn amazing.
