Nick Thompson deciding between OU and Utah

If we don't get this guy i'm going to put the nail in our coffin-- and mine.

I really hope we do get him. He would add much needed height to the roster as well as some maturity. Plus the kid can get up!

I think he also has a Kevin Pittsnogle-esque tatoo on his arm...sign him.

If we can get this guy and Newell, then I'll feel a lot more positive about the future of OU basketball than I do right now.

Personally, I'd like to have a rebounding machine like Washington, too. We need players that WANT to rebound and WANT to play defense as much or more than they want to score.

"Birdman" type player... Sign me up! FUN to watch.
I know about all the drugs and life that birdman had, but if you can overcome that... Thats awesome!

Anytime you can take a good hard nosed defensive minded player, we need to get them. Everyone loves play offense, few like the def. end of the floor..!

I have a feeling Nick will pull the trigger for the GOOD GUYS by the end of the week...

I agree, as Ada said in another thread, Capel's slow-playing of recruits has bitten us in the butt too many times. I hope he comes to his senses and offers Washington asap.

There are just too many factors that we don't know about which affects slow playing recruits. If we were in the coaches' shoes, we might very well do exactly the same thing. Sitting on the outside, it is almost impossible to make that call.

Who says we are slow-playing the kid? It is just an assumption. Sorry, but when things look this bad from the outside, and in conjunction with issues we've had with JUCO kids over the last couple of years, I sort of like the idea of having the kid get healed up from injury and letting our staff view an individual workout. Strikes me as odd that guys who rip Capel for the guys he brought in who subsequently left the program, particularly JUCO's, now are accusing him of "slow-playing" a JUCO guy. I call it being more prudent in making offers, something I THOUGHT many people on here were clamoring for.

lets just make it easy on ourselves and bring in... thompson, newell, loyd and the terrence's... and call it a day... do it jeff!

I am in ageement with you. I was just commenting on the previous discussions. I think it is prudent to watch the guy actually play before jumping the gun and offering him a ship. I don't see how anyone could disagree with that.

Is that what you would call the Jai Lucas/John Roberson fiasco?
