NIcole Kornet

Will she be eligible immediately if she has graduated from OU or is that just for football?

soonerstar,
Good question.
I see no reason why it cannot be used in women's hoops. It's used in men's hoops.

I don't know if she has graduated but, if so, it would be good if she can play immediately.

Maybe Sherri's waiting on Nicole to choose a location before announcing her departure officially.

Best wishes and hope she has a very successful season next year, unless she is able to play this year if she did graduate.

I'm a Bruin. And I have never been so happy. Oklahoma, you molded me into who I am today & I will forever be thankful

At least she isn't burning any bridges regardless of how she feels inside. Classy comment.

I've been surprised by this entire episode. I thought she was happy here. Yet, I wonder why UCLA wants a senior transfer that was used less and less at OU. How does she fit in? What is this new-found intensity, or was it always there? There is a lot here about Nicole that I don't know.

I would be disappointed in Sherri if she were to take a player who ties up a ship for two years but can only play one, unless she was a special player.

I can only wish her the best. Enjoyed watching her play, and hope she tears it up with her new team. Good Luck Nicole K.

Well, she has tied up a couple of ships for two years with transfers who saw little playing time. Similar action. Guess it depends upon surrounding circumstances. Maybe facts with UCLA and Nicole of which we are not aware...I mean they obviously had ship this late in the year available so maybe it wasn't going to be used and they believe she can contribute when she does play plus maybe make an impact as a leader by being on the team this year. Maybe help get recruits from Texas next year and in the future. Just throwing some things out.

Oh and we have gone years without using all our ships.

Sitting out a year to only play one year is strange. She must have wanted out of Norman pretty bad.

Or maybe she just wanted to play and did not see that happening at ou so was looking for a different system and/or better shot. Plus she gets another year of school paid for, gets to be near the ocean which she seems to love.

I will be really disappointed in Sherri if she doesn't say something about Nicole's departure. I think that would be cold and callous.

I don't recall any comments ever made about players who have chosen to leave. Why would you start now?

I get amused with all you conspiracy theorists.

Did it ever enter your mind that Nicole graduated and is going to start Graduate school and perhaps wants to do that graduate work at schools that have particullar programs she likes?

I did not choose to go to grad school at my undergraduate school and in fact that is the strong recommendation given to most students.

We simply do not know why she left. Be patient. If Nicole is happy, I'm happy. Yes I loved watching her play, and her smile, and her enthusiasm. But she has a life to live far past this season's games.

OH, I can assure you that Sherri is not "cold and callous". But in my opinion your comment may have been.
