Odomes Triple Double

Tough competition or not, ya gotta be impressed with the numbers our future Sooner put up. He didn't just reach the triple double mark, he left no doubt that he was the man in charge.

Thanks for posting, JK12!

They were playing the #17 team in the state. In Texas that is pretty good.

I don't mean to belittle Odomes' accomplishment but La Vega is not the 17th best HS basketball team in Texas. They're a little school in Waco playing 4A ball (about 150 4A schools in Texas). La Vega has 739 kids in school across all classes and has a losing record (4-5) .... currently 4th best in their 6 member conference (district 17). How they're ranked 17 in 4A is beyond me.

To give a size perspective, Allen is playing for the 6A Division 1 state football championship on Saturday and they have 5987 kids enrolled. There are many more 6A and 5A schools than 4A. Odomes Copperas Cove team is a 6A team with an enrollment of 2204, and their record of 11-6 is 6th best of 7 teams in their district.

In Texas 6A schools have an enrollment of at least 2100..... largest is Allen at 5987 (The Woodlands where I live has 4126 and Katy where OU's prize football recruit Rodney Anderson is playing for the 6A Division 2 state championship on Saturday has an enrollment of 3219). 5A schools range between 1050-2099. 4A between 465-1049. 3A between 220-464. 2A between 105-219, and 1A have 104 and below..... smallest school has 72.

The truth is Copperas Cove rolled over a much smaller La Vega basketball team which was very much expected..... they are 3 times larger than La Vega. Still it was a nice game for Odomes.

anyone notice Shake Milton dropped 52 against Bixby last week? Bixby is not nearly as good as last year, but 52 versus a 6A team is impressive.

One of the announcers said something about it during the Tulsa (I believe) game.

Why bring up a non OU player on an OU board?

I didn't. It's still not a bad thing to talk about a former OU recruit. Plus a good kid. If it's everyday like boca and capel it's annoying.

I agree. I couldn't care less when it's a player who could have been a Sooner but decided to go to another school.

Especially when the thread is about an ou player and about 5 reply's later we're talking about an SMU player.
