+++++Oklahoma [6-1] vs. #25 USC [4-2] Game Thread+++++

Geez that half court 3 looked on target too. Proud of the way they played today, never panicked even when USC made their big run, kept running the offense. Obviously if the FTs go in this is a smoother victory but for a team still learning how to win they ll learn from it.

Wasnt sure if this team had a tourney bid in em but today gives me a lot of encouragement. Gonna have to play a lot better to try and pull one out against Wichita next week.

Unless something really unconventional were to happen, we're not beating Wichita. Having said that, we have a decent shot at 10-2 in the non-con with some nice scalps away from home. If we can pull off a win at Bama and have a good start to the conference, then we are definitely ahead of schedule.

Right now, we are in the 8-9 seed range based upon our results. We will certainly have an opportunity to improve on that. But we have to keep getting better and eliminating the little mistakes that hold us back in regards to games like tonight. Good win though.

Just don't want to see a big blow out playing Wichita State..which it could happen

I know he's young, but Manek needs to react a bit quicker after receiving the ball down low. Attack the rim.

It’s f’ing wichita state. As long as we can control gregg Marshall’s wife we’ll be fine.

He put two back up and in tonight without bringing the ball down at all.

Overall he has shown to be passive at times when the first instinct should be to have the defender off guard and be slow to react the play as it unfolds.

You experts guys crack me up. For two years all that was said on this board was that he would never play at OU or was Tyler Neal 2.0. Now he dunks over two USC bigs and you still complain!! Lmao

I'm never going to complain over a win, but our guys were obviously too tired down the stretch. Anyway, here is some constructive criticism from Fran Frashilla.

Young @OU_MBBall very fortunate. Coasted last 15 minutes & defended like USC had a communicable disease. But it’s a win over ranked team.

That's about it. Ceiling is high for this group plus Doolittle.

Was there last night and the game never seemed it was going to end. OU was really dragging at the end. Seemed OU was more interested in burning clock at the end than making any shots.
McNease was so woeful offensively 3 feet from the bucket. He didn't seem to any real delivery on his jump hook, constantly short. A liability on offense and Lattin wasn't any better.
Except for set ups for dunkns on Young passes, there wasn' much of an inside game.
Wondered if Polla could have helped get defensive rebounds towards the end of the game with fresh leg and his bulk?
Just glad to leave Staples Center with a good win and a chance to observe the USC cheer squad and dance girls plus the Laker Girls.
