Just curious how many of you think OU will win both games this month. I think they’ll split those games. I could see them losing to OSU but beating Michigan and vice versa. It seems as though both teams are much improved over last year.

I'm not sure OSU is much improved, but as history proves, you never know in that game. Michigan is definitely much improved and I see it as a toss up. So I'd be surprised if it weren't a 1-1 stretch.

Michigan is a tough matchup. Start two skilled 7 footers & they’re not bad 1-3 either. We’re going to have to speed them up and create turnovers. Need the bad version of Danny Wolf to show up and give us the ball 4-5 times & clank jumpers rather than the good one that’s a 7ft tall monster creating via pick & roll, posting, hitting stepback 3s, & blocking shots. He and Goldin together won’t be fun to deal with.

I think that is most likely.

But the way OU defends and shoots. They will have a shot vs Michigan
It’s hard to envision us being able to handle their bigs and/or keep them off the glass. I wonder if we will just lean into going small to try to create mismatches if Michigan spends a lot of time with both of them on the court.

Michigan front court is big/good but they aren’t world beaters at the 1-3 positions

It’s Christmas time .. so going with happy times and 2-0 as a gift to the fans.. go into the SEC 13-0 having legitimately surprised everyone. Huge test, but feel like the team can actually pull that off this year.

Can Michigan be run on? Hopefully we can get out ahead of their bigs. Looks like this will be won from 15 feet and out, and in transition if we can.
They are a top 10 defensive team on KenPom, but they do turn the ball over a lot. Combine those two things and I feel like we need to do everything we can to pressure them and get out in transition.

Of course, I’m mainly worried about Oklahoma State at this point.

We may play hard on guards at let the big boys from old blue eat and just hope to out score on other end. Make it hard to get pass in on defense.

Michigan plays arky tonight. Should be interesting.

Watching Mich/pigs…

Ya their 2 7’ers are good. Bad match up for us. Surprising the rest of the roster is 6’5 and under. Our guards match up size wise pretty good.

The one big just had a helluva pass to the other for a dunk

Yeah, they’ll give you the ball some. Especially Wolf if you’ll make his actions uncomfortable, but you can’t sit back and let him/them dictate. Part of the problem in the clip I posted is Wisconsin just allowed Michigan to dictate pace in the 1/2 court & get to every spot they wanted to (tried to match them with two bigs and just did an awful job on the 4-5 ball screen because of it) I’d kill to have Soares back on this roster bc I think he’d be our best matchup for Wolf because of his activity on the ball & physicality when undersized in a matchup. Need Moore to come out and have a performance like that. Really, pressuring him and getting him off the center of the floor is important imo. When he’s getting that ball screen between the slots it’s just hard to defend.

We also need to attack those two on the offensive end. Make their bigs come out and guard multiple screen actions per possession and when you get a step, drive the damn thing through their nose on the way to the rim and see if you can create some foul trouble. They’ll get their share of blocks but you can use that aggression against them. We can also force ourselves into some favorable matchups on offense if we’ll be intentional about it.

Arkansas isn’t doing anything at all to disrupt their rhythm enough either right now but I’m not too shocked by that as their HC is an absolute fool.
