Oklahoma still feels like home to Duke's Jahlil Okafor

That is actually a descent article.

Tough life for that young man. I cannot imagine seeing that happen to your mother at such a young age. Okafor could have just as easily acted out and turned to bad things but instead chose to focus on something positive. Good for him. I hope he has a wonderful basketball career and a great life.

If the Pelicans win tonight, and the ping pong balls bounce the right way, Oklahoma may be home to Okafor again (although I think the Thunder would draft his teammate, Winslow, if they ended up picking in the top 2 or 3).

I will murder the OKC franchise if they get that lucky.

:)

It's "lucky" to have your season completely tanked by one of the most runs of injuries ever to add a draft pick you don't need?

Puh-lease. If you gave the OKC ownership and fans the option of making the playoffs this year with a healthy team, or missing the playoffs due to injuries and getting the first pick of the draft out of it, they'd have taken the first pick EVERY time.

Okafor, Westbrook, and KD would be a nearly unstoppable trio.

And they'd get that first pick with the lowest of odds, correct? Like I said, lucky.

Injuries happen, they are part of the game. The Celtics missed out on beating the Lakers a few years ago because of injuries. May have been the case in two difference seasons for the, if I remember correctly.

You dont' trade a year in the prime of two hall of famers who might not even resign with you for a draft pick, unless it's a LeBron James, Tim Duncan, Anthony Davis type player. That kind of guy isn't in this draft.

umm no. completely healthy, okc would be favorites to win the championship. I would not waste a year of the few years we may have left with KD and RW for a top pick.

I disagree. I don't think a healthy OKC team finishes in the top 3 of the West this year.

What was their record with a full lineup? At least, full in terms of KD and Westbrook.

Lol uh no... Fully healthy lineup beats the Spurs and didn't have problems with the Warriors last year either. Spurs got us last year cause serge was hurt in playoffs. We swept them in the regular season. That was before we added morrow, kanter, and Augustine. I've been as pessimistic as you can find for a thunder fan, but you're foolish if you think this team fully healthy isn't top three in the west.

I'm talking in terms of record, not necessarily how they might match up.

And this Warriors team appears to be better than last season. I just don't see a healthy OKC team topping the record the Warriors put up. And personally, I don't think OKC is built to win a championship, but it's not a debate I really want to have again with some of the knuckle-head Thunder fans on this board.

are you high?

They were 18-8 this year with KD in the lineup. That would be good for 2nd in the west. And that isn't counting the other injuries okc had.

I don't know if okc would beat the warriors. But to claim they wouldn't be a top 3 team in the west is just insane.

BTW, the thunder were 1-3 against them this year. Only one game was a blowout. The other three could have gone either way. And one of those was when kd and russ were both out i believe

Check your math.

They were 18-9 in games that KD played. 66.7% winning percentage. Currently, there are 4 teams with a better winning percentage than that (in the West), and a 5th with that exact percentage. And guess what, some of them had injuries too.

Stop, you're better than that.

Well first of all, if what you posted is true, it isn't my math skills that need to be check...it would be my research skills on KDs record. b/c if he was 18-8, my math is correct.

point stands, your opinion is ridiculous

so back on topic....I didn't realize this kid was from Oklahoma. Seems like a good kid

As a Warrior fan a thunder team with both KD and Westbrook had me a little sacred, anytime you have 2 of the best players in the game, you can win it all... It seems like the Thunder organization is cheep, and would rather tank then have to pay any big time free agents... I can't see KD or Westbrook in town that much longer...
