One of my favorites: Terrell Relly Rell Everett

What a player! A great athlete who played a lot bigger than his size. Terrell was one of my favorites, too!

Thanks for posting, BT! Always good to see you!!!

Loved watching him. It was quite a disappointment that he and Taj didn't ever go deeper in the tourney.

Calling on BT for a legggggoooooo early Saturday morning to break the tiny apple curse!!

Enjoyed terrells play too, crafty lefty!

A true stat sheet stuffer. I used to keep track of all his tallies during the game. If he hit 25 (points+rebounds+assists+steals) it usually meant a Sooner win. Dude could put up a 13-6-6-2 in his sleep.

And he was a JUCO!

Were Everett and Taj Gray the last IMPACT JUCO players we had at OU? I know we're had some SOLID players since, but trying to remember if we had a guy who was one of the 3-4 best players on the team since that era.

I'd say Michael Neal was the last. Out of the now defunct Lon Morris College in Texas.

Id say you are correct.

Last jucos that even played much were Grooms, Dinjyll Walker, DJ Bennett, what was that short left handed PG 6th man's name again? Early or something? Omar leary! Juan patillo was going to be an absolute monster IMO what a waste.. biggest disappoint to me since keith clark. Kur kurath. Who else am i missing juco-wise? ABD, your moment to shine

My favorite Terrell Everett memory was on a fast break, his pass OFF the BACK BOARD to Taj Gray for the nasty flush! It was sooo good.

We need to recruit more terrell Everett’s.

Loved Everett! Didn’t he sink a game winner at College Station in like a 47-45 bloodbath?

OU going 1-4 and Nolan Johnson dominating DMason on both ends is one of my favorite OU bball memories

I remember that game VERY well. It was basically 1V1 for a bit there...and Nolan Johnson was UNSTOPPABLE!!!

Yeah, he qualifies…my memory isn’t what it used to be…but sadly, he was only one year behind Everett and Gray. Kelvin did a great job of maintaining the JUCO tradition Billy Tubbs started.

I realize those JUCO ranks are barely a shell of what they used to be, but I would have to agree with bigabd that we should go after the few gems that are there. I will never forget what Larry Johnson’s JUCO Coach said when every college in America was recruiting him: “It’s Oklahoma or UNLV. Everyone else is wasting their time.” There are no Larry Johnson’s in JUCO, but we could do worse than the top player every year saying that OU is one of his top choices.

That is correct. A game only an Iba could love. 45-44 with a three-pointer at the horn. Awful.

Seven of our 16 conference contests in that 2006 season were decided by one point; including the haunting loss in Lawrence, which I doubt I'll ever get over. I left my house on foot and just walked for 90 minutes plus.

Super Bowl Sunday. 50-34 lead following a follow dunk by Taj midway through the second half. Then the roof caved in, we couldn't score, and the building got us. Self considers it one of the most important wins during his time at KU. A lot of the core guys on their '08 title team were freshmen and that game was a key part in turning around their season.

When you read posts about poor officiating, I seldom get involved. I can count on one hand the total number of games in my life that I have blamed the officials for my team losing…and two of those four or five involved one team and one primary official. That game in Lawrence left a very sour taste in my mouth, though not as sour as the one from 18 years prior to that.
