Only 6 TOs against the vaunted Forte led defense

And our PG Jordan Woodard didn't have any. He's really improved a lot this year and not many fans have noticed it. He's even doing a good job on defense....... Much better than last year.

True, but still too much dribbling.

Will Forte is such a scrappy competitor. Can you imagine if he played for TCU or Tech? They'd be dancing.

I love Woodard and as a sophomore he's doing great. But his shot selection just amazes me sometimes. There were 2 different times where it was a close game and he dribble down and took a jumper at the elbow with 25 seconds left on the shot clock....like what is he thinking? He's shooting 35% from the field and we LITERALLY have 4 other guys on the floor that is rather be shooting the ball then him shooting a 18 foot jumper with no one else's hands touching the ball. His game is driving and dishing and if no one is open I undertand having to create your own shot and hitting that little jumper he likes....he can also hit the occasional wipe open 3. But the dribbling straight down and shooting with 25 seconds left on the shot clock has gotta stop...we need to work the ball and look for our best option.

Based on what? He has certainly played better (good) the last 5 or so games, but his season as a whole is nearly identical to last season. Slightly better in some areas, slightly worse in others.

His three point shooting is way down from last. Regular field goal percentage is up a bit, but still low. Rebounding is up a bit. Everything else is pretty similar to last year, including turnovers which are up a bit over last year.

I've been pretty "blah" about his play this year as a whole. I expected a bit more.

Agree! He is probably at best the 7th best pg in the Big 12. Staten, Morris, Anderson, Cherry, Taylor, Mason I would rank higher.

Jordan should be ranked no worse than the 6th best PG in the Big 12, and the stats support that claim. The only place he falls short of Staten, Mason, Morris and Chery is in scoring. He is ranked 6th in assists of all of the players in the conference; 5th in steals and 7th in assists to turnover ratio. An important statistic when it comes to giving the team a chance to win close games is free throw percentage. He is ranked 4th in that category.

Keep in mind, these stats are based on an entire season. I have to believe that Jordan would be ranked higher if he had not had an abysmal start to the season that continued well into conference play.

The criticism was warranted back then. IMO, that is not the case now. He has been pretty darned good lately. In the last six games, he is averaging 9.3 ppg; 3.1 rpg; 3.6 assists; 1.5 turnovers and 1.6 steals. Five of his nine turnovers were in one game (TCU).

I'm not saying he is playing as well as he should. What I am saying is that he is a better point guard than he gets credit for. I, for one, am glad he's a Sooner!

How much a point guard dribbles depends in part(large part) on the movement of the rest of the team. Are they moving? Moving purposefully? The women had that problem last year. Everybody stood around so Morgan dribbled.

I hope Woodard just continues to take care of the ball, make good passes, and just hit open 3s. That's all we need from him right now.

Next year he needs to expand his scoring desperately
