OSU getting blasted against Bama

The obsession with OSU having it rough so far on this site is sad but I guess that's what you fall to when the last time you were involved in any post-season game at all was 3 years ago.

OSU isn't a good team but OSU played a NCAA tournament team in Birmingham tonight whereas OU played something called South Carolina STATE at home. Hmmm, seems to be a common occuring theme this year. You guys are still fattening up that strength of schedule I see. If there was more time on the schedule you guys could have traveled up to Goodwell, OK and played Panhandle St. to.

I guess OU is going to the NCAA tournament this year? Please tell me you are, after watching our game I need a good laugh.

Yes, one just doesn't see that sort of thing on oswho sites; I can see where you'd find it upsetting.

But I can't help but ask: Who's obsessed -- a group of fans that have a bit of fun over the misfortunes of their in-state rival (though, given the head-to-head record between the two programs, it's hard to really think of it as a legitimate rivalry) or the oswho fan who, day after day, visits this site, his eyes peeled for any negative word posted about his orange-clad heroes?

I'd say the opposing fan who can't stay away from a rival board takes the prize.

GIA_Stout is confused that a fanbase is having fun at the misfortune of a rival? That's certainly never happened in sports.

Its 11:00 on a work day and you are on an OU messageboard after you got pounded by a reeling bama team without their best player and I'm obsessed?

Have fun at the free Va Tech game. I might go just so I can gaze at the historical realm that is GIA. Might get my picture taken next to Iba's chair.

Don't keep hating that nationally GIA has 20x the respect from everyone involved in the game than LNC does.

It's a sad, sad fan who is reduced to finding solace in the "respect" his team's arena gets from writers in other cities.

"We might not have a good team and we might have trouble filling our arena and we might be reduced to offering free admission against an ACC opponent whose record stands at 9-3, but gol darn it, Hank Iba once coached here!"

I approve of, and endorse, this post.

OSU sure has trouble winning in "Carls JR" arena. Strange how OU has the second highest home winning percentage of the Big 12 schools all time behind Kansas.

Kinda feel bad for this guy - OSU is in all kinds of turmoil with guys leaving, guys throwing towels at Ford, fans not showing up, fans not buying tickets, mediocre coach locked up for 10 years in a sport Boone doesn't care about, an "all star" that pouts and doesn't play hard and he is over here checking on big brother.

I guess I wouldn't want to read Orange power either...

I hope he sticks around. I'm enjoying watch you guys slap him around.

Good stuff from a poke (regarding Cezar tweet):

"It takes time. Nobody said it'll be easy
6 freshmen
1 sophomore
3 juniors
1 senior"

Even our players are using the "youth" excuse. I wanted to reply back, but didn't of course:

Alabama
5 freshmen
4 sophomores
3 juniors
1 senior

#comeonman

Edit: In ADDITION, the lone Alabama Senior and star JaMychal Green DIDN'T PLAY. I never hate on college kids, that's weak. I just hate excuses.

Who are the 6 freshmen for OSU?

Your mention of OrangePower.com gave me the idea of visiting that site (for the first time in I don't know how long -- years, probably).

Get this -- on their home page, they're still touting their win over Missouri State. That game was played on Dec. 7. Wondering why in the world they hadn't updated the home page in two weeks, I checked their schedule.

They're 0-3 since that win. I guess they figure it's good news or no news. Wouldn't want to upset all the lil' cowboys by giving coverage to losses.

Another gem from a poke (some good zings tonight):

I'm just hoping Marcus Smart can motivate and coach this team from the court, because they sure as hell aren't getting it from Ford.

OSU played a NCAA tournament team in Birmingham tonight whereas OU played something called South Carolina STATE at home.

South Carolina STATE played at Pitt right after Oklahoma STATE did, and gave them nearly as good a game, losing by 14 while oswho lost by 6 (after trailing by 10 points with 34 seconds left).

What else do you have?

Man, OSU is going to have to improve quite a bit to end up 15-16. If they play like they have the last 3 games, it will be more like 12-19.

That sucks because I dont want them to lose Ford. OSU is one of the few teams we've been able to beat in the Big 12 South the past few years. With all the MAA's Texas and Baylor get and the solid program A&M has, we can' afford OSU to get a decent coach in there.

Thanks to Ford, I really enjoyed watching OU beat OSU 5 times in a row from 2007-2009, including 2 in a row in Stillwater. That is rare. Kelvin only won 3 games in Stillwater in 12 years.

Beating them in Stoolwater in 08 without Blake Griffin or WW was cool, but this one was the best IMO [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MITZNw2wxVk&feature=related[/ame]

I was intrigued by this comment from a poke fan over there at orangepower.com:

"Wasn't it one of the biggest gripes from fans that our OOC schedule sucked?"

Don't worry. They can't afford to get rid of him for quite a few years. 10 year contract at over $2M per year and they don't give a crap about basketball anymore....they are a football school!!! T Bone won't allow them to spend any extra money on basketball!

Still bringing that up. Don't keep hating that nationally GIA has 20x the respect from everyone involved in the game than LNC does. I can tell it bothers you. It's a historic basketball arena, it will always have national praise no matter if the attendance dips as demonstrated by the dozens of articles you can find. The LNC is more famous for gymnastics for all anyone else knows. Every friend I know that attended OU makes fun of the place except folks on here...The Carl's JR Center.

NO it doesn't. Go east or west and people don't even know that OSU exists. Your school is a joke outside the Big XII. Nobody cares. Ask Skyview, he lives in NYC, they think there is only one school in Oklahoma and that school isn't OSU.

You guys are the red headed step brother. You are the kid nobody wants around but we all wen to first grade together so we are nice to you. You are the guy that pissed his pants in second grade and never lived it down. Should I continue.

Thank you Sky and Big for the evening laughs. It is never a bad thing to end your night, laughing at an insecure poke.... :clap:clap:chestram2:
