It might be time to put this poor tournament out of it's misery.

This one and all the others are just gimmicks to get an extra game on the schedule. If it wasn't the All College, it would be something else.
Meh, I think participating in the tournaments around Thanksgiving every year is what gets us 31 regular season games, not the All-College. Could be wrong though. I don't really see the point of playing Houston in OKC but maybe that's just me.
I actually think this is one of the better match ups they've had since West Virginia and Tennessee came to town. Houston will be a tough game (always athletic) and New Mexico should be a 25 win team next year...only lost one player from last season's team that won 22 games. OSU will have a real tough time with Drew Gordon down low.
Agreed. It's nice to see much better matchups this year.
I still would love to see some kind of "classic" in Tulsa at the BOK Center with OU, OSU, TU, ORU and Arkansas involved. You could maybe throw in another SEC team and have a great Saturday of basketball some time in December.
Have three games... maybe with 2 p.m., 5 p.m. and then 8 p.m. tips?
ORU vs. TU could use that for their "mayor's cup game"... then have OSU/OU play Arkansas/other SEC team.
That would be great.
OU and OSU should play Tulsa and ORU every single year, regardless.
Yes, you are right. But, the All College is the same thing. Just another extra regular season game that they wouldn't ordinarily have. The bad thing about it is that OU will sometimes have to pay back the other team with a home game for them.
The NCAA allows for a max of 27 games. Up to 4 additional games can be played under one of these approved tournaments. Teams used to be limited to participation in only two out of four years. That was dropped a few years back because TV wanted them to. Some of the formats are pretty hokie like the All College. Most teams find one of these things to play in every year. If they can not, they make application and have their own. "I'm making this statement based of the most recent interpretaion of the NCAA rules I could find using a Google search".I'm under the impression that participating in tournaments such as the Maui and the 76 allows us to have 31 games instead of 30. And that the All-College is pointless because although it is also a tournament, we already participate in another tournament. But maybe I'm wrong.

UNM will be a sleeper team that will probably earn a 3-5 seed in the tournament next year. A win against OSU in OKC will be a huge get for them, they'll definitely be gunning for the pokes.
