OU needs a win in Stoolwater. This is a big game and OSU plays much better at home. The bench has to produce. OU has to control the Boards. OU must play good defense and protect the ball.

If you were Kruger what would your game plan be?

I would put however many guys are required to not let Forte breathe and go from there.

Same Game plan we had in Norman, suffocate them on the perimeter and have the bigs get in Nash's head

Although I like Nash as a player, he isn't very big. I think we could exploit them inside with Thomas being bigger and stronger than Nash and Cobbins. Spangler is so smart he just adds to that advantage. Nash was in foul trouble in Norman (which helped) so maybe we can get into his head.

I'm hoping Hickey and Woodard basically neutralize each other.

Buddy and Cousins will dog Forte and I even liked the defensive intensity that Booker brought the last couple of games. He got out of position a few times, but hustled his butt off. Of course, OSU will be trying to set all kinds of crazy screens to get Forte open and if he gets hot he can be unconscious good….. but Buddy and Cousins are really good perimeter defenders.

I actually think OU matches up pretty well against the Pokes.

The GIA crowd will be wild so the Sooners need to keep their composure.

Besides the elite 8 and the fact he swung for the fences in recruiting another main reason I liked coach Capel ...

"Great win, now let's get out of this hell hole"!!! Classic sooner swagger against lil brother.

Bring it home Kruger. OSU is terrible. No way we should lose to these dopes.

Obviously OU has to take away the big two.

But remember that role players shoot the ball much better at home.

It's going to be a battle, imo.

Like I said earlier in the season, no good excuse to not sweep this osu team this year. They just aren't that good outside of Forte and to some degree, Nash.

Forte and Nash will likely get their points, in that they'll both probably score something like 15-22 points each.

The key would be to not let one of them totally go off and hit 30, OR to let one of our secondary players (Shine, Newberry or Carroll) get loose and score 12-15.

Also, OSU can be extremely vulnerable on the defensive boards, and in the games we've lost, teams have taken advantage of that.

That's how we beat both Texas and Baylor at home... they WEREN'T able to press that strength. They are two of the best rebounding teams in the nation and we ended up outrebounding Texas and only had 1 fewer than Baylor.

The key to beating osu, is you have to keep Nash and Forte under 35 points combine. IF they top that number, they win most games.

The biggest difference in playing osu at home, and playing osu on the road, is their bench. In GIA, their role & bench players actually look like they know how to play basketball... When osu goes plays on the road, those roll players look like they would struggle to find minutes at ORU.

I'm thinking if we keep Nash + Forte under 35 combine points, AND keep hickey, flat top, the freshman wing, and old man Cobbins from having uncharacteristly good games (no one randomly drop 15+) - We will win regardless of whether our shooting is "on".

I'm actually hoping for a tough road test this weekend. We could use a close win, to get us moving into these next few contests.

Agreed.

The other thing is that OSU's defensive efficiency is MUCH better at home.

Part of that is the "Big 12 refs effect" where the home team gets more calls, but OSU has just shown much more energy and effort on the defensive end at home, especially rebounding -- hence my previous comment.
