If I told you Clark and Hield would combine for 12 points against A&M and the team would have 22 turn overs, what would you predict for a final score?

I am positive you would say OU gets run out of the gym. But when that happened OU won by 12 and it really wasn't even that close down the stretch as A&M allowed OU to run clock in the final minute rather than foul.

To me that is a sign of a pretty good team. On a bad night they still beat a major conference team convincingly in what was effectively a road game.

You are right. Mediocre teams win when they play well and lose when they play poorly. Good teams can still win when they play poorly. I'm not saying we have a great team.

But, there is a difference between winners and losers. This is a team of young talented winners.

OU is playing really good but I still think we could have won if Hield and Clark had 0 pts. aTm is not a good team. The only team they have beaten with a record above .500 is Houston.

Why do you feel the need to take away from a solid win? A&M is a bcs conference member. A&M leads the SEC in several defensive categories. It was a road game. That was a solid win on an off night. The guys should be complimented rather than insulting the competition.

Good win for OU, didn't play well and still pulled it out. A&M will be looking for a new coach this summer.

Any win is a solid win. And A&M might be a bcs conference member but come march they probably won't even be in the NIT.
I think its great that we don't need our best players to do that well against bad competition in order to pull out a W!
Its not insulting to say that aTm is not a good team if they really aren't a good team.

So many players contributed in smalls ways, it really creates a "team" effort.

What I really liked was that we showed the ability to play solid defense when we needed to.

We have played the weakest schedule of any team in the top 35 of the RPI. A&M is ranked #151. Our best win is over #83 Mercer.

We could very well be a good team but won't know for sure until we start playing some top 35 teams & winning.

That is not exactly accurate. You might be able to say that we have played the weakest schedule of any of the teams ranked in the top 19 of the RPI. That would be more accurate because this morning we are 19th in the RPI.

There are 18 teams with similar records ranked ahead of us in the RPI because they have played better schedules.

I agree with all that DS, except partially on the road game. Yes it was on the road, but not before a road crowd. I cannot wait to see our guys play before a packed house, road OR home. Anyone who has followed Sooner BB for the past decade knows that they're off to a great start. I really thought we'd have 4-5 losses by now without Osby, but this team looks like it's going to be better than last year. LK knows what he's doing here. I love it!

ESPN is not the "true" RPI. It is an extrapolation of the official formula, but doesn't match up exactly. Most of the other services show OU at 27th with an SOS of 114. I think ESPN adds some numbers in there for offensive and defensive efficiency similar to Ken Pom or Jeff Sagarin.

Looks like our record was a mirage due solely to playing a terrible schedule. I'm expecting a losing conference record for sure unless the big XII is terrible.

We're not very talented & Kruger has never proven to be better than average as a coach.

That's just not true, sir. He came in and cleaned up a mess of a program a few years ago. Took a "not very talented" squad to the NCAA last year...

You've just been waiting for this loss to say something. Don't overreact. I never jumped on board with the people who said we would go 11-7 or 12-6 in the big 12. This team has major flaws. However, I do still think this team is pretty good and has a shot to make the tourney, which is more than most thought was possible at the beginning of the year.

11-2 in non-con wasn't bad and I'm expecting an up and down 9-9 in a tough big 12 this year. Win a game in the conference tourney and we are probably dancing. This team has still exceeded expectations.

I haven't even mentioned the fact that hornbeak was out tonight and will be back soon, which I think will make a significant difference for this team. Hope Woodard is OK.

If last year was "not very talented" with Osbey, pledge and Mbeye, then what would you call this team?
