If Arizona offered him, he must be a lot better than we first thought.
Why do people keep saying this? Does Arizona and UCONN (and a host of other good schools) not ever sign a kid that doesn't live up to expectations? I have no idea how good or bad Korchek is. None. But I think it's a bad idea to assume he is "good" just b/c Zona offered him a scholarship.

Zona also has the #1 recruiting class in the country
Who would you think would be better, a guy who had it down to us and Sam Houston State, or us and Arizona?
Lighten up people. All the OP is saying is that UA offering shows he may be legit. Is it a sure thing? Of course not. Who would you think would be better, a guy who had it down to us and Sam Houston State, or us and Arizona?
I don't disagree with what you are saying. But as a die hard OU fan that has paid considerable attention over the years it frustrates me to see so many OU fans act like our program needs validation from other great programs. In the last couple of weeks I have seen comments that our recruits are arguably better because Arizona and Uconn showed interest. The fact of the matter is head to head, OU has dominated Uconn and Arizona. In both cases the sample size is small but OU did win the majority of the games going 8-3 against the two teams. I just want OU fans to recognize that our basketball program (notwithstanding the last few years) truly is one of the elite programs. Sometimes I feel like the out of state perception of OU basketball is better than the in state perception and we need to change that. If we (die hard basketball fans that waste countless hours on the internet discussing this nonsense) don't believe in the program, how can we expect some casual fan to understand the things that have been accomplished.
What your saying has very little to do with recruiting in 2012.
What he is saying is that in general OU offering a player should be enough for us to know he is good. We don't need validation from programs we regularly beat.
Do I really need to roll out the recruit list from the past few years?
Please list those programs we regularly beat right now.
You are looking at our team and not our program. At this point in our PROGRAM, we have a great history and tradition, as well as a great coach with a long history of recruiting, retaining, and coaching up good players.
We shouldn't need validation from Arizona for our recruiting strategies.
At this point in our TEAM, it's nice to have some validation that a player is good enough to play for another team with a history of recruiting good players...because we are a bit gun-shy.

It's funny how some of you clowns are the firsy ones to dog the coaches when we get a commitment from a player who may not have been offered by many big name schools,
Anyone who doesn't think there is a direct correlation between good players and the type of schools that offer them is totally cluless. And before some idiot throws out an example of the exception to the rule...there is exceptions to every rule....but I'll go with the odds!!!!
When have I done that? When has that been done period?
With HS kids? I agree. If you are trying to say that same theory applies to JUCO's, you are clueless about college basketball, and the recruitment of JUCO's. Go find a list of the top 50 JUCO's. Most of that list will be committed to schools that certainly aren't considered top 25 level schools. Who is recruiting what JUCO means practically nothing when trying to evaluate how good he may or may not be. Heck, North Carolina tried to get in on Grooms late last year. How stupid does that make your argument look?
