**********OU-Kansas Game Thread**********

This one isn't that hard to figure out. No Spangler-No shot.

I'll add that our interior defense suffers when Spangler is not on the floor. The KU bigs are having a field day with Tyler. Despite his improved play in most areas, he is not a good defender on the inside. He doesn't even get his hands up in the air most of the time to make it harder for someone to shoot over him.

I was thinking about the game last year and the good D that Ro and Fitz played. Makes a big difference not having that interior D. Coach should get a big raise if he figures out a way to pull this one out.

Wow. Just lazy getting out there to defend on Selden there.

Anyone else think this could get out of hand? I love this team but I'm just not feeling it tonight

It's not a surprise that KU is getting everything they want.

Surprising because LK's teams usually guard pretty well but this team is going to have to outscore people to win and that doesn't work against upper echelon teams. Not enough bigs inside to defend and rebound.

Next year, I think OU's freshman bigs will make a difference for sure on the defensive end.

Yep, no reason to cover that Selden guy at the three point arc.
Leaving him wide open is probably the best option.

Can't make stops.

We have scored 10 points by the 4 minute media TO.
And Kansas has EXTENDED their lead by 5 points.

What is defense?

Just getting out basketball-ed. We're just in sad shape when we have to ask Neal to defend inside. Not going to happen. Add that to some lazy close outs and we're in worse trouble.

KU is very confident now. Gotta find some way to put a little doubt in their minds.

KU is shooting near 70%. I understand we suck at D, but they couldn't hit perimeter shots at this clip even if no one was on the court guarding them for the rest of the year.

You simply have to have some type of commitment on the defensive end to beat good teams. Regardless of your limitations, you have to find a way to disrupt the other team's offensive flow....whether it's junk defenses, trapping, etc. Until we make that commitment (instead of focusing more on offense), we won't be having much success against the better teams on our schedule.

It seems we get EVERYBODY'S best offensive game this year. What is this football?

As Jay Bilas said in the first half about our defense...."I didn't think you could get that open in a game."
