OU Ladies vs. Bevo Girls

This game will definitely, I think, tell us where we stand, not just for getting into the tournament but how well we might perform if/when we get there.

I have to say, I'm a little nervous that we come out cold after hyping ourselves out in the locker room.

I expect us to be be competitive and fight hard and play smart. If we do that, win or lose, i think we all will be happy.

Can't believe the season is already over. Softball next for me and then soccer and football.

I am hoping we come out shooting well and play tough defense. If the kids can put together 40 good minutes they certainly can win this game. I agree with you Ollie, I just want them to play hard and take care of the ball. Win or lose I would be okay with that. Looking forward to the Big XII tournament. Going to try and catch as many games as I can. Hope the Sooners can at least play both Saturday and Sunday.

How far have we come? This could be an interesting game. Although we have come a long way, Texas is a #7 ranked team. They are pretty good.

Beginning in 2000, OU is 7-11 in Austin during the regular season, (2-3 during playoffs). Texas has outscored us 70.27 to 67.83 (we have actually outscored Texas, 306-300 in those five Austin--one in Big D--playoff games). So, it has been close.

We are 12-7 in Norman (0-1 in OKC in playoffs) with a 71.84 to 67.74 scoring advantage.

Texas won by ten in Norman, 88-78. We must overcome that and home court advantage.

I see two problems: rebounding and poor three-point shooting. We sometimes go soft on the boards, and you can't let Texas have several shots. If we aren't hitting from outside, sometimes, we get sloppy. The breakdown ability of Shaina has helped a lot here, gets us moving when nothing else is working. Last time, it was Hogg that went off on us. Good athlete. It will help if Holmes is still awkward.

Last year, I don't think we were as good, and we hung around to make a last second shot in Norman.

I wish Shaina could be more of just a layup threat so many times she is open for 3...and so many passing mistakes...she reminds me a lot of Higgs and Higgs has really gotten better at shooting i know Shaina will too! Just so many opportunities.

Maddie just holding the ball in front of her carelessly = turnover. We let off the glass and focus and they took advantage to erase a close game. FOCUS!

Well exactly what I hoped wouldn't happen has. Missed Layups and free throws, with 10 first half turnovers is stupid basketball. Texas is quick, but we just need to clean up our defense and block out on the boards, and last, no more lazy passes. We can beat this team, but have to play a lot smarter basketball in the second half.

This seems to be Vivi and Maddie playing texas. Lazy defense by some, as well as lazy passes. We simply gave Texas an 8--0 run. But, Texas hit three threes off of our lazy turnovers. We would lead if not for some lethargy. They got to the rim at will late.

Frustrating to see some hard work go down the drain..

And Vivi reciprocated at her first opportunity on White with no call. Both bad calls in my opinion. I would have charged offensive fouls against both White and Vivi.

Just curious, and not being negative to anyone here, but when OU women play it appears from posts here that they always get a lot of bad calls and no mention of the other teams ever getting bad calls; are there people on here who believe that? Even sometimes it seems from reading on here, the calls result in the opposing team wins.

It seems weird to me. And it doesn't seem to matter if OU is playing at home or here.
