*******OU-North Texas Pregame Notes/Game Thread*******

Spangler's free throw shooting = :facepalm

Timeout with 9:13 to go. OU up 74-67. Getting a bit scary here.

We need to be better from the line. it will cost us a game or two or even more if we cant do better. I'm sure they will

FT shooting has been bad tonight. We're better than that, so I think it's just one of those games as far as FTs go. Defense? That's another story. It must improve.

Spangler was responsible for seven or eight of those missed FTs, I think.

Our rebounding has to improve also. They're getting way too many second chances.

We certainly have some things to take away from this game. Need to work on the defense and FT shooting. Nice getting the win though. Tyler Neal and Buddy played well.

Nice win. Some things to work on. I think our defense is going to be a work in progress all season. We don't have a very deep or strong post game so rebounding will be a battle. I like this team though. I think the program is steadily improving under Krugers leadership.

Free throw shooting was really only one guy having a bad night at the line for the most part.

Good win but the defense needs work. Frank Booker had a real impressive game. Hield was a star of course. Very balanced attack on offense.

When I look at the scoreboard, and OU has scored about thirty points, I am elated when I find that nine (9) different players have scored. When I look at the box score and discover that five guys were in double figures, another had nine, and two more had seven, it makes me think that someone is developing a team. They aren't polished on defense, and they could do with some work at the FT line, but this is a fascinating team. If you have a favorite player, that may change in the next game.

I thought Bennett played some good minutes. Booker is also proving that he is something other than just a long range shooter. Loved his drive and pull up in the lane.

Nice game for Neal who was early off the bench.

Yep. I'm not trying to call anybody out here, but those who have consistently dogged Neal now have reason to reconsider his potential role. I know it was North Texas and I'm not saying he's all-conference material or anything of the sort, but he made a valuable contribution tonight and I suspect it's not the last time this season he'll do so.

Just like last year Lon does a very nice job of going real deep early on in the season to give a lot of guys a taste, I know we hated some of his rotations last year but it can give some guys who may need to play some minutes later on some confidence.

Once we get deep into conference play that rotation gonna tighten up but it's fun to watch everyone getting their share right now (as long as we're winning).

One game doesn't make a player. He has a whole career of poor shooting and poor decision making. Don't hold your breath
