OU offers two in-state players from Mustang

Thanks, Cale!

The report late last summer said OU had offered Meyer and Long. Is there a mutual interest from both kids? What kind of numbers are they putting up this season? Is there another player on Mustang's roster OU has shown an interest in?

Thanks for sharing these videos. Did anyone else notice the hilarious flop in the second dunk video?

Another player being looked at by OU is Terrell Williams. He's a 6'0 Guard (Junior) who averages around 21 points and 5 rebounds a game. He has had 1 or 2, 30 point games this season. Great all around player. He's definitely not afraid to pull up from anywhere on the floor and he loves playing uptempo.

Good stuff, Cale! Keep us posted on these kids. I also hope you'll keep an eye out for newspaper articles about these players and post them here if you get the chance.

Thanks!

No problem, and will do!

im not wowed by Meyer at all... hope these are plan C guys for Kruger

Well, Meyer was 6'8" as a freshman, extremely athletic and runs the floor like a deer. Long looks to me like a football player playing basketball. EXTREMELY physical guard as a freshman - manhandled some talented upper classmen.

I realize it's your "job" to be Mr. Naysayer, but these kids are pretty legit and are being recruited by some of the bigger schools.

BTW, Long is actually playing football this year...pops probably isn't too happy about it...

It is not his job, it is his personality type to be an ass at all times.

I've seen these 2 also and tend to agree on Meyer. Long has the body at a young age. Meyer still has time to improve. Hopefully he's grows a bit more too.

No, he's a legit 6'9" I'd guess. He's really raw, but is, again, just a sophomore.

Meyer yes he is long and tall. Has a long way to go in the athletic department but has the tools to be OU good.

Long his dad doesn't want him playing football next year says they make him too heavy. He said on the radio that it messed up his shot also.

Williams is no way 6'0 more like 5'10 and will be a good small college guard.

Mustang has a great collection of talent from several parts of okc. They will be team to reckon with for a couple years.

Also Curtis Haywood had to sit because of a transfer.

I was hoping the offers weren't solid.. Already wasting a scholly on CJ Cole or whatever that walkons named.

Sure thing pal. Weren't solid? like Tford or slippery cali? LK is a solid. Does things right. Keep 2nd guessing him.

Didn't mean to offend you about your son. Ha. I meant that Kruger hadn't pulled the trigger.. Some twitter guy reported it.. Cool story tho coach

Anyone who reads this board on any regular basis knows these are my kidos! Mine's 4 and 1 on the way!

Long and Meyer are sophomores. Assuming they're shaving once or twice a week, it's not much more than peach fuzz.

OU offer or not, Scott Wright, an Oklahoman reporter who covers OU basketball, seems to think the Sooners have a legitimate interest. If so, that works for me. LK and his staff have proven they're pretty darned good at judging talent and potential. I like what I have seen in the players they have signed in the last two recruiting classes.

I have no idea if Meyer and Long actually have an OU offer? Even if they do, it's anybody's guess as to how good they'll be next year or two years from now. That's where trusting our coaches to make the right call comes in.

Austin Meyer had 15 points and 20 boards tonight in Mustang's win against PC North
