OU recruiting 2017

Spock,
It's not like 2017 is a one player or two player class.
5 seniors (4 depending upon Manning's status).
1 verbal from 2 years ago.
Still no summer camps. No word on official visits. 4 months from signing day, and the roster needs a massive infusion of talent.

No one disputes the fact as presented above. I think that terminating Sherri or giving her a ultimatum at this time is premature. But improvements on the court needs to me made and soon. What is solution?

You list concerns but provide no answers. To do so is idle chit-chat.

Spock,
Agreed.
I think Sherri needs to recommit to recruiting like Bob did.
And she needs to make some staff changes.
She needs a massive overhaul of how she uses Social Media to promote the
OU brand.
And she needs to start "marketing" her recruiting better with the sites that cover OU
sports.
She needs to repair relationships with the AAU coaches in Texas/Dallas area.

And she needs to stop telling people she hates recruiting.

hahahaha We are all just frustrated... we just need a little bone thrown our way so we know the program is alive!! :facepalm

of the success.

“There hasn’t been a better coaching ever done in America to turn a program around than what Sherri did at OU,” Sharp said. “She brought special passion and energy to the program. Just a few years before they almost canceled the program and the way she rebuilt the program amazing. Now it’s one of the most respected programs in the country and her vision and passion for the game has not only done great things for women’s basketball and but as well as the University of Oklahoma
Marsha Sharp

“Sherri epitomizes class, expertise and ability that one should strive for,” Conradt stated. “She probably has one of the most unique journeys with University of Oklahoma. I don’t think anyone has ever stepped into that situation before and succeeded the way she has. She was the right person at the right time. The success she’s had, you have to amplify it with how she has built the program.”
Judy Conradt

None of you has the slightest idea of what Sherri is doing or how difficult it is to recruit to OU. Her peers respect the job that she has done. The message board "gurus" think they have better answers. You don't even know the right questions.

Please. Stop the discussion of political correctness. Examine the history of the term and its use. It is always used as a negative. Right now, when I see someone complain about political correctness, I think immediately of bigotry. I rather hope that I can be given the opportunity to refrain from regarding you as a bigot. Back off the discussion of political correctness.

You are right... Everything is peachy!! No reason for concern.

Keep in mind that Texas and Baylor are loading up on mostly in state kids...

Why are people so down? It seems to me that Vivian Gray is still available. Horvat and Micaela Johnson are considering OU. Maybe OU gets Veitenheimer next year. I know LoLo Davenports mother follows a OU coach. Then NaLyssa Smith could be a possibility.

$350 is not a lot for a team..... It is about $25 a kid, and I know for Baylor its $75 a kid. Camps are a great way to get these kids on campus. That's just my 2 cents.

The $350 is for the individual Elite Camp, not Team Camp. The Team Camp is $150-$200 a kid depending on if you are staying there or traveling.

20 months with no verbals is troubling. Very troubling. There's quiet recruiting and then there's that.

You are forgetting about Morgan Rich's transfer from last fall. Only a couple of teams have 2 high level 2017 recruits. You are right that ecruiting is the lifeblood of college athletics but it is too soon to be in recruiting panic mode yet.

Mens basketball has team camp. I just saw a tweet that Union won the team camp. Not to expensive for the mens team.

What would make a kid want to go to an OU camp?

I dont know if it would help with out of state kids. It sure would with in state kids.

Hey a social media present would help.I talked to shoe team Club director(1of 3 in texas) a few weeks ago about OU he immediately mentioned the lack of a social media presence. It none existing. It cool that the Ouwbb following some kids but that not enough.ijs

New 2017 rankings.......Ana has moved into the McDonald's talk now.......keep yourself in the top 20 and she will be in the discussions.

You folks think SC would win the NCAA title if the starting five from UConn was starting at OU last year? I think the young ladies just don't hit it off with S.C. Things will remain about the same at OU, maybe fall a bit more, but changes will not be made.

Mallory Vaughn down to 4. Colorado, TCU, Texas Tech, Arizona. I remember the SAE incident hurt her. Before that she was at alot of OU games.

I saw Jessi Murcer and Gabby Gregory just got offers from Arkansas. Ja'Mee Asberry 5-5 PG from E Central committed to OSU. Three players I liked from Texas that attended Baylor camp are Trinity Oliver 2017, NaLyssa Smith 2018, and Taylor Jones 2019. I just wish OU would offer some of these recruits early.
