OU signs 3 Players

Well, IF he comes to ou for baseball as well, can’t be drafted again till he’s a jr. If he’s really serious about baseball he needs to go to juco then can be drafted after a yr.

Any rumor about juco?

No

For some perspective, this year, four guys drafted in the top 10 rounds didn’t sign, which was the most since 2018. One of the four had just had Tommy John surgery and the Mets never officially offered him a deal.

But by golly, the ever-powerful OU NIL machine will keep him. Lol

This was also a year where college kids out drafted straight out of high school. Does not always work that way, but did this past year. It depends on what he wants. He can come to college and have that experience. I know someone who went juco then pro after a year and hated the pro baseball experience and wished he would have stayed just for experience. Others have the opposite opinion.

Of course it could happen. The numbers say it’s unlikely. Essentially, one percent of top 10 round picks don’t sign. Even if you just count high school kids, the number is probably about three or four percent. If he has a good baseball season and is high on draft boards, the chances aren’t great.

It’s trending toward kids opting for college and teams drafting proven college talent over raw high school talent. It’s been moving that direction for quite some time now.

Again, four out of 300+ guys this year, one of whom was coming off TJ surgery. And two of those four were college kids who decided to return to school. So a whopping two high school players drafted in the top 10 rounds opted for college. If he is absolutely dead set on playing basketball, that obviously adds a a factor that most kids don’t have, but hard to turn down a massive signing bonus for some NIL money that may or may not come over the course of three or more years.

if kids make it known that they are going to college (unless they are a 1st round pick) they simply DON'T get drafted in the top 10 rounds ..

so your "stat" is pretty useless ..

But Blair hasn't let anyone know. And why would a kid (or anyone) ever limit their earnings potential by saying they WON'T do something (within reason)?!

Why do people expect kids to go full potato mode?! He's not stupid. If he is that stupid, I don't want him at OU in any capacity.

he most certainly will when it gets closer to MLB draft time .. because that is how the process works ..

99.99% of the time signing bonus and round pick requirements are fully known and agreed upon BEFORE a player is drafted ...

there are some exceptions in the first round .. (but NOT usually for high school players) ..

He hasn’t even played his basketball or baseball season!

The plan is Ou. If hits 25 Bombs and era of .01 over 67 innings. We can talk about it

I kind of doubt he will be fired unless we finish in the bottom 2 of the conference.
