Like the +/- addition to the box scores.

I like the way Trae played overall on this trip, and his stats were great ... BUT he shot too much. If he's the PG -- and a freshman PG at that -- he shouldn't be shooting twice as many shots as the next guy over three games. He'll be fine, and Lon will work with him, but just something that bugs me a bit looking at stats.

Don't get too wrapped up in labels. Basketball is moving away from the traditional model where the PG gets the assists (and shoots rarely) and the SG shoots the ball from the outside and the PF gets the rebounds and so forth. Young is the team's best scorer so he should be shooting the most, even though he's also the primary ball-handler. Those traditional labels just don't matter much anymore.

We didn't bring TY into be just passer... RW kyrie CP3 Wall... they score. TY will score for us.

Im very very intrigued with shep runnig the point with Trae on the court with him

I don't have a problem with the number of shots Trae takes. His ability to score from anywhere is the reason I thought he was a better option than Pritchard. I was bummed when PP opted out of his commitment to OU. But in looking back on it now, I think we got the best end of the deal in TY.

This team needed a point guard who can score. Heck, we needed him last year. He's not just a scorer, he's a facilitator who makes his teammates look better. He had six assists in this morning's game, and it should have been ten or more if his teammates hadn't missed easy shots or fumbled away perfect passes. Watch the game and you'll see what I mean.

He's our best player and best shooter. Nothing more to say.

Kyrie Irving
Austin Rivers

If the PG is the best scorer on the team, by all means let him shoot!

One of these things is not like the others. But yeah.

Kemba Walker was the Uconn PG. I never have considered Austin Rivers a PG although Doc is trying to morph him into one.

I agree it's OK for Trae to lead the team in scoring. He drives to the hole better than I thought he could. He's not being unselfish because I like his game as a facilitator.... and defender. He has actually exceeded my already high expectations with his all-around game.

Of course he's going to be playing against a lot better PG's than he's seeing in these 4 games, but because he can score in so many ways he will leave the other 4 players with more open looks. That's a good thing.
