OU up to a 4 seed in latest Bracketology

and no top 25... I know its coming but just stupid with our schedule and wins.

Yep. I haven't worried too much about the polls -- and they're still not keeping me awake at night -- but 10-1 against one of the toughest schedules in the country is a no-brainer at this point.

Bracket Matrix hasn't updated as of today, but it should at some point. OU looks pretty good and in most cases, sits somewhere between a 3-6 seed.

If you click on the links further down (horizontally), you'll see that some of the blogs have updated in the last several days and OU has jumped from the 8-11 range up to the 3-6 range.

Got to be honest, after last year, being 12-1 (or whatever it was) and 4th then falling off a cliff, I could see how some voters might be cautious

Not that I agree, but for voters that don't watch all the games

I’m not worried about the rankings either, yet it’s hard to understand why this team is not getting much respect from the pollsters?

Guess I shouldn’t be surprised, though, some of the fans here didn’t think the team would be this good. Too bad a few of them haven’t been around to admit how wrong they were.

Oh, they’ll be back. Right after we lose again. Some things never change.

We started the year with no votes in either poll, and most people around the country thought we were not even close to a tourney team. That meant we had a ton of ground to make up. And even though we have played a great schedule, we don't have one eye-popping win over a great team that would have immediately vaulted us into the rankings.

The good news is, other than pride, polls mean nothing this time of year -- the national media hardly cover college hoops till after football season, so it's not like we would be getting more attention if we had a number by our name. Things like the NET ranking and the other analytic ratings are far more important -- I'd much rather be 16 in the NET and unranked in the polls than the other way around.

Big XII is also awful this year. Not going to be close the bloodbath it was last year. There are some legitimately bad teams in the league this year (OSU, Baylor, West Virginia).

7 tourney teams not awful

They aren't getting 7. 5 or 6.

I believe last year the Big 12 got 8 teams in.....with two of those teams being 8-10 in conference. Thus, getting in 7 teams this year certainly isn't a stretch at all. With the field now being 68 teams, the bubble becomes that much weaker and more teams are considered (that wouldn't normally be considered under a 64 team format).

Baylor and OSU don't have the squads to get in this year.....and WV likely doesn't have a good enough one either. But everyone else could certainly make it.....especially if the 7th place team can get to 8-10. If so, that 7th place team would would very likely be on the bubble at the very least.

Those 8-10 teams got in because the conference was a meat grinder. Both the top of the conference and the bottom of the conference were better last year.

This is the worst year for the Big XII in quite a while.

To the extent it matters, no question we'll be ranked next week. More importantly, we'll keep moving up in the NET.

Points-wise, we were still pretty far out of the rankings last week. We were just on the outside looking in at 26 and 27 (I think I've got that right), but the points gap to be closed was still pretty sizable.

This is not the worst year for the Big 12 in a while....that is hyperbole. The league is a little down compared to last year, but last year was historic. Most quality metric indicators have the Big 12 and the Big 10 as the two best leagues.

Also before tonight's games....the Big 12 had 8 teams in the Kenpom top 40. For comparisons sake, the Pac 12 only had 1 team (Oregon) in the kenpom top 40.....and Oregon lost to Baylor tonight.

I will reiterate that if the 7th place big 12 team sits at 8-10 in conference at the end of the season, then they are likely getting in. I will eat my shoe if I'm wrong.

OU will be in the top 15 next week.

I wouldn't go that far but we'll definitely be ranked. Furman will drop out, and Arizona State likely be will if they lose to KU and go 0-2 on the week.
