OU v OSU

The offense just isn't going to be all that great. But it doesn't really need to be with the defense bringing it every game.

How many did we lose by? 20? 30?

Wait, we won? How could that be? According to the game thread, all our players sucked and our coach doesn't know when to substitute or who to play.

Whens your white knight trophy going to arrive?

.

This is a good rebounding team, too. OU had a 12 rebound advantage (51-39) in this game.

If you are referring to me, I will stand by what I said in the game thread. We had just established somewhat of a rhythm and had separation (I believe we had a 7 or 9 pt lead)...and then we start subbing before the 1st TV timeout. I believe it was a mistake and looking back, Coach Kruger might agree that subbing that soon was a little too early in retrospect.

Silly me, I forgot that the key to being a fan is to piss and moan about everything that happens during a conference win over our rival. I'll try to be better about that.

Funny, though not surprising, that almost every poster on this board spent last season saying that they would much rather watch a team that plays great D and competes their butts off even if that means ugly offense. That's exactly what we have this season and everyone is already complaining about shooting percentages and how bad we look.

Nobody is complaining that we won. We are all relieved that we won because we looked absolutely horrible at times against a terrible opponent that we should have handled by at least 20. The point of the game thread is to observe what is happening in real time. When I see positive things happening I say so, when I see negative things happening I report that as well. Unfortunately, even though we won we didn't play well except for the first 5 minutes and last 5 minutes of the game.

Really? If everyone is complaining about shooting percentages I assume you are as well.

I love this defense and the headiness they play with.

PLUS ... check out what Brady's been doing. He's really starting to bloom as a forward. Every game you see a little more and a little emerge. When he just busts it all out it's gonna be nice. Hopefully he hits a few shots too - but I like the boards and presence just as well.

And Doolittle had a big smile when he dropped that 15 footer. That was sweet. I hope he stays pumped up like that because he can be a huge difference for us.

typical bedlam game as of late. we woulda lost this one last year again. this OU team doesn't fall for the banana in the tailpipe.

Agreed, it's nice to see Doolittle and Manek playing better.

Unreal. I tend to stay out of game threads.

This is why.

I had intended to watch the replay at 7:30. But even knowing the outcome, I think the officiating will raise my blood pressure to dangerous levels.

Ask #9 Florida State how terrible oswho is. Ask ISU, who beat them by six the other night. Ask the undefeated Houston Cougars, who also beat them by 10.

In 43 Bedlam matchups this century, there have been just eight games that resulted in a win by either team of 15 points or more -- just five that saw a 20-point margin or more.

I hate oswho. I'm always very pleased to see us run them out of the gym, and I was hoping we might do so today. But counting on a rout in a Bedlam game -- expecting it -- is just asking for disappointment. It's a heated rivalry, so the games tend to be close. No impartial observers around the country will look at today's score and think, "Geez, the Sooners really struggled." We did what we had to do to defeat a hated rival, and we led virtually from start to finish. I call that a good day.

Watch the second half -- the officials eased up a little bit.

It was terrible officiating, but mostly it just made for an ugly game. The numbers suggest that we benefited -- I'm sure the aggie fans think so -- but it may have actually evened out (I didn't feel that way during the game, though).

No flow to the game and a game that should have taken about an hour and fifty minutes took two hours and fifteen minutes - brutal.
