But thunder has little to nothing to do with attendance
Wins do
I know families that disagree. They’ve virtually stopped attending since the Thunder have come to town. They go to Texas/KU/OSU now.

Just curious, how many of you were there?
-Couldn’t buy a call in the 2nd half.
Where were the OU fans?
On tv it looked there wasn't a 1,000 fans in the seats.

It can't be because they like good basketball. Yes, the NBA has flashy, impressive players, but something has always been missing for me when I watch an NBA game.
I think some people choose the NBA games because they want to 'see and be seen'.
I'd encourage you to give the NBA another try, especially if you can make it to a game in person. I love college hoops, and don't have any NBA team that I follow/care about like the Sooners. But the quality of basketball at the NBA level is so far superior to the college game in every area that there really is no comparison. A lot of people think the NBA is all style, no substance, but nothing is further from the truth. NBA players are also vastly superior at all the basic skills . . . shooting, passing, dribbling, etc. And contrary to the old myth, NBA teams/players are also much better defensively than even the best college defenses. It's perfectly fine to prefer college to NBA, but I think it is just flat wrong to say that the NBA isn't "good basketball."

The LNC will have a crowd of 2,500 and the yellow shirts will still be out checking tickets to gain access to the lower level.

i'd venture to say that a lot of the people that go to thunder games are not that interested in basketball...more about entertainment. If it had the atmosphere of the college games, it wouldn't survive here.Give me the college experience over the NBA anytime. I don't need an announcer screaming at me the whole game or wacky movie clips or constant thumping music.
My (now late) father and I attended a Thunder playoff game a few years ago, and we quite literally could not hear each other speak throughout most of the game -- and it wasn't crowd noise. It was the piped-in nonsense. The product on the floor might have been fine, but the NBA (at least in OKC) seemingly isn't confident enough to let it stand on its own. It was like a midsized-market Morning Zoo radio show with visuals, entertaining for an easily distracted 12-year-old, perhaps, but unbearable for my taste.
As for the play on the court, I don't watch NBA games all that often -- once or twice a month, mostly when I can see a Sooner play -- but I see bad shots and dribbling mishaps not infrequently. Yes, even the occasional air ball.
