OU vs KU

Have you always had trouble with reading comprehension? I will type this slowly this time. We have good players. We don't have great players. If that's your definition of dogging players, oh well. If you cannot see that Baylor and Texas are bringing in better players than we are then you know nothing about basketball.

I think Baylor has a lot of very talented players, who as a whole are better than ours. I think Texas, they bring in some really good players. I think we bring in really good players. What makes their players better than the ones we have???? High School rankings? ha. That's ridiculous. We beat them straight up 3 out of 5 times, could of won them all. VPL is better than any post player they have, and I'll take Gioya and Maddie over any two guards they have any day. Baylor, we have the talent to compete against, as we were the only ones to beat them last year. Texas, I just think we are better than them- Plain and Simple.

Let's see what happens from here out.

Generally speaking the women's tourney does not have near the # of upsets or cinderella runs as the men's tournament.
It goes to form or to seeds. (talent)
OU's probably a 5 or 6 seed. Should win game 1. Tossup in game 2. Win RD2, lose by double digits to a tourney favorite. Not really competitive. Basically rinse/repeat from the last several years.
That's OU's likely ceiling this year.

Absolutely accurate analysis.

Yep. That sums us up. A perennial one and done in the tournament. I'm not happy with that and simply put, it's due to the talent level.

j2d2,
Right, OU is stuck in the zone of "good enough" which would be fine but OU used to be great. Sherri's compensated at an Elite level. She set the bar this high.
Sherri's way too good a coach for things to get "bad". There's never going to be a legit
downfall to justify firing her.
But is OU honestly anywhere near going to another Final Four? Nope. And I'd love to eat
those words. But 6 years and counting since a real big time Tourney run.
Maybe good enough is the new expectation of every year. We should stop expecting
Big 12 titles, Final Four trips.
Just accept 3rd place finishes with good squads off the field and in the classroom.

Excellent post. She is not accomplishing enough commensurate to her salary. I think these kinds of seasons are good enough for Boren and Castiglione. They have bigger fish to fry than a womens basketball program that loses millions of dollars each year. Also, do not blame her for the huge salary. Blame Boren and Castiglione for recommending it to the board of regents. Everyone of us would gladly take the check and cash it.

Lots of good comments on this thread. What has been pointed out is why I've said that the class of 2017 is critical. We have a good start with Ana but, we must have some other great players as well.

What you mean is that there is a lot of negative comments in this thread. It does seem to fit your personality.

Syb, get off your high horse. Not everyone has to think like you, thank God.
