The missed jump ball wouldn’t have mattered because OU had the possession arrow.
I really didn't expect anyone to agree.
I agree with you. I wish Reaves had hit more of his shots today, but I didn't think he took that many ill-advised shots.
I think Reaves comes in for far more criticism than he deserves. Compare his offensive results to Doo's over the past two or three games, and there's very little difference, but Doo never gets called out.
But given the warnings on this board entering the game about how tough a matchup MSU was going to be for us, I'm surprised (though not terribly) that this is just one more win that many are spinning as an ugly one. I think i was a terrific victory and I'm celebrating it without reservation or hesitation--with no ifs, ands or buts.
That's it in a nutshell.
On Reaves: the kid can be frustrating as the devil with his poor shooting and shot selection. But can no one here see that he rebounds really well and can get his team an easy basket by finding a teammate down low with a great pass?
Reaves does contribute even if his shooting/shot selection have been atrocious. That's why he's still starting and getting starter's minutes.
In the eyes of the NCAA tourney committee, is this game considered a “home”, “neutral”, or “semi-neutral/home”? If this game is considered a home game, what benefit does OU get by moving the game off campus?

Well, Reaves gets more criticism than Doo because Reaves has done this almost the entire season. Not just a couple of games. While I’m not a big of Doolittle’s off-the-dribble deep 2s, those are still much better attempts than when Reaves tries his contortionist act while trying to shoot the ball. Doo also plays much better defense than Reaves. He also doesn’t come across as nearly as selfish as Reaves.
I believe it's considered a "semi home" game similar to our game against Oregon State, which was played in Portland (semi-away). There are many rankings and analytics that take these "semi" games into account when formulating their ratings.
As far playing at the Peake, I think OU plays one non-conference game there every year.
It's a home game. Easiest way to figure out the answer to that is: are the game day ops run by OU or is done by a neutral crew like what you'd see in a tournament game. If you have the OU PA guy and all the timeout and halftime stuff is run by OU, it's a home game.

reaves is second on the team in assists behind bienemy, 10 ahead of harmon and 15 ahead of doolittle.
As for Hill or Williams being a huge improvement over Reaves if only Coach Kruger would bench him...
Reaves
FG -- 38%
3PT -- 25%
FT -- 80%
Williams
FG -- 41%
3PT -- 26%
FT -- 63%
Hill
FG -- 40%
3PT -- 27%
FT -- 57%
The advantage in free-throw percentage alone is reason enough to stick with Reaves.

In conference play:
Reaves:
FG -- 34%
3PT -- 20%
FT -- 66%
His field goal % in conference play is 2nd to last on the team, FT% 3rd to last, 3 point % 2nd to last. He does lead the team in turnovers (almost doubling the player in 2nd) and he leads the entire team in usage % despite these abysmal numbers.
